"There is little soundproofing between rooms and every step can be heard from the room upstairs and next to us. We could hear every step from above and also conversations that prevented us from getting much sleep. We were also woken early by guests in the room next door who entertained guests on the porch and took chairs from our porch without regard for us in the room next to them. We don’t understand why guests were given rooms next to us when there were only 4 rooms occupied in the entire building on one of the nights we stayed. (There other night we were told it was fully booked). It is an older property so I understand that the noise issue may be unavoidable. I recommend the management warn guests of the thin walls and also those staying on the first floor will likely hear all from the floor above. "

"Only a quick overnight, but they took dogs. Higher priced, and much nicer than what we needed, but would go back anytime. Spent a lot of time in Friday Harbor over decades, and never knew this place was there. Off season, so hard to guess what like in high season, but excellent experience. "

"We had an amazing weekend here! Wonderful location, great rooms and amazing owner. The breakfast was really good and it was a great time to talk with the host and other guests. They also had some goats and alpacas we enjoyed feeding during some of our down time."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, I really liked this place. It had unique character, with many original furnishing and cool wood details. The kitchen was well-stocked with gear. The setting was very pretty, and you could see the ocean and sometimes the Olympic Mountains from the front deck. My one complaint was the beds. We slept the first night in the larger king room. The bed was very hard, and would move whenever you'd roll over to try to get comfortable. Overall, I think the bed is just pretty worn out. The box spring underneath was sagging. We slept the rest of the nights in the smaller room, which was more comfortable. However, both beds and the bedding could really use a refresh. It felt like sleeping in your friend's parents house. The place is a little hard to find because the house numbers are blocked by some over growing plants. It also would have been nice to have some sort of bicycle storage. The location was really pretty, and it was cool to have access to the beach, and a short drive from the state park on the southern end of the island. This place was decently affordable, and if the beds were updated, I would definitely stay here again."

"Exactly as described! Beautiful views right on the coast. Interior is spacious for 2BR/1BA, loft was great for kids and my wife and I were able to stay in the enclosed bedroom. Bedding and mattresses were very comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Fire pit outside was enjoyable. The beach access (and the beach itself) was rugged but my kids still greatly enjoyed having the water right there. Saw whales offshore twice during our stay! We even took the host advice and tried harvesting some sea lettuce which was fun and more tasty than expected (hint, dry it with a bit of salt).No complaints, but a word of warning: the access road is a decently long dirt/gravel road with some potholes. Take it slow and expect it to add a few minutes driving in and out. The isolation was worth it!"
