"Lovely stay. Parking right outside our cabin, plenty of breakfast selection, visited by a lovely dog called Saga, clean room, nice location (30 mins away from the lagoon, waterfall backdrop), helpful staff and most importantly a kettle included. Not a fan of the shower area as the water gets everywhere in the bathroom. Would stay here again."

Old Cottage - Reynivellir II

"Check-in is at a different location than the Cottage, so be sure to review the messages from the hotel before arrival regarding check-in location. We were the first guests to arrive for the evening. Our room was clean and tidy upon arrival, and so was the bathroom and kitchen/common area. The cottage was full and we were on the 2nd floor with 2 bathrooms. Each bathroom only had 1 bath mat, which disappeared after the 2nd person took a shower. (Each room should be provided its own bathmat, not 1 per bathroom. Besides ensuring we'd have use of a bathmat, it's more sanitary.) The bathroom doors/doorknobs were sticky and required a bit of "slam" to close, making it noisy for guests, especially those right across the hall. There should also be some indication where extra toilet paper and blow dryer are stored. When we called about it, we weren't told it was in the drawer below the sink (thought it was a false drawer so hadn't looked), but was told to look in the other bathroom. Not helpful. Other guests left food in the sink drain after cooking/eating. Sign should indicate to throw in garbage. The cottage is relatively old, even though the bathroom and kitchen area have been updated, and it sounded/felt like we were going to go through the floor when walking around in our room."

"This hotel is really fancy and nice. The hot tubs outside and the sauna with beautiful views. The rooms are lovely and the restaurant food was excellent. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was the price. It was very expensive and, while wonderful, I don’t know if it was worth the prices."

"The hotel staff were very friendly. We stayed in a room in a separate area from the hotel. The room was smaller but nice. Very quiet and clean and had comfortable beds. Breakfast was good and filling."

"Large room but it did smell of mildew. Shower is large but water went everywhere. Adjacent restaurant had an excellent dinner. Front desk staff was kind enough to put our name on the list and called when the table became available. Continental breakfast was good. Great location for access to the glacier."
