Welcoming and comfortable; friendly helpful staff

This was a wonderful stay! Mark was so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing. The room was clean and spacious. Would definitiely recommend!

Peter and Sheila were wonderful hosts. They gave us ideas of where to eat and places to see. Breakfast was very good and enjoyable with them providing information about the area. If we return to the Northumberland area we will definitely return there to stay again.

Loved this place...nice and quiet, clean and very well maintained. The (female) owner is a sweetie and was extremely helpful! Great food too. Loved the room..thank God there was a decently sized shower...North Americans appreciate this feature perhaps more than most! Very comfortable...

Adorable little Inn and pub. Great room although it was a little tight for a triple. Comfortable beds. Quiet. My only complaint is that there is no electrical plug near a mirror for blow drying your hair. That and the rain showerhead. But that’s just a personal preference for me. The shower was large and the water pressure was decent. The staff was amazing. I would’ve loved to go down for a pint before bed, but was too tired. Seemed like a friendly little place. Purse Lodge was a great place to stop on our way to Bamburvg Castle. Nice room, bed and pillows. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were super friendly.

Unique country Inn

If you are looking for the authentic English village experience this is perfect. Beautiful old hotel with a nice pub on the first floor. Friendly people, two more pubs on the same corner. There’s a really beautiful forest nearby for good walks , it’s about a 30 min drive to the coast (Holy Island, Bamburgh etc). was really really enjoyable.

Room was very nice. Beautiful manor, quiet countryside surroundings. Dining and lounge area first class. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Only regret we had was only booking for one night! If we return to the area, we’ll be staying again!

Had a 2 night stay. Booked this property as it had an elevator and travelling with an elderly parent with reduced mobility. On arrival late in the evening we learned that both elevators were out of order. We were on the 3rd floor with no other suitable rooms available. With assistance from staff and another guest we made it to the room. We were able to switch to a lower room the next morning. All staff were very apologetic and went out of their way to help us make the stay positive...

Clean room. Perfect location. Everything is walkable, including the beach right in front of the hotel.

An immaculate property with everything you need to be comfortable and a two minute walk into town. Fantastic accommodation!

Cozy and friendly, and so charmingly situated. The staff were lovely. The room was comfy -- love the floral throw cushions! A very pleasant stay.

Wonderful breakfast, quiet & beautifully decorated room
