"The hotel was probably once an adorable boutique hotel. Now it is run down with weeds in the outdoor planters and televisions that do not work. We had to ask for towels. It is a pet friendly hotel which is not my "cup of tea" and there were lots of pets! There were two different desk clerks. One was completely clueless/unhelpful. The other seemed better but still, things do not run smoothly. Hudson was a cute and seemingly up and coming town so the hotel could capitalize on that if they just invested and revamped. On the plus side, parking was free and easy and the downtown area was close and accessible."

"We were in the area for a wedding and stayed a few extra days at The Amelia. We loved the hotel and had a huge 1 bedroom suite on the top floor. It felt like staying in someone’s personal home. The hotel is extremely clean and our room was kept tidy daily. There is a small kitchen area stocked with coffee, tea, drinks and snacks. It was only a few short blocks to the main part of town with great coffee shops, restaurants and stores. I would definitely book this hotel again if we are in the area again, My only complaint is we had a lot of luggage with us and you need to be able to carry it up the stairs. It didn't take away from the hotel experience but you should be aware there is no elevator and ask for help with luggage if you need it. Fantastic stay."

"The room was clean and nicely decorated. There is no staff on the property, but were reachable via text. There were snacks in the kitchen and a fridge to store a few things in. The parking is limited & inconvenient, having to move our car from one side of the street to another to adhere to odd/even days. We enjoyed the outdoor space."

"The best aspect of this property is its location. The location couldn't be better. Second, it is very clean and efficient for a couple or single who want(s) the bare bones. Street parking is ample and steps from the Nest. The two drawbacks to the property are that this is a completely turnkey operation - there is no one on site - and there are no amenities. This is a compact house that has been converted into a four room guesthouse with a communal galley micro kitchen. We stayed on the upper floor. The stairs are small and noisy (comically creaky - but to be fair we heard no other guest noise during our stay but it possible we were the only guests at the property). The room itself is on the small side but it worked fine for us. The bathroom is a bit tight but again efficient and worked fine. My biggest complaint is value - this was a relatively expensive place to stay ($450+ a night) for very little other than a place to rest your head and shower, albeit in a great location. If it were priced at 250 or under, I would wholeheartedly recommend it for a couple looking for an efficient, no frills but well located stay in charming Hudson."

"We love Hudson, and used to be there all the time, so this was to be a fond return. We also love the Wick and where it is set. But we really don’t want to be at a wedding venue, where that becomes the focus for the property. We certainly don’t want to be up until 3 AM because of noisy celebrants. But the man at the front desk was very responsive when I called about that. We would also like to think that a slight extension on checkout, from 11 AM until noon, is the reasonable norm. Especially on a Sunday, in a town like Hudson, where not many would be expected to arrive. As it was, we were up for our anniversary, 38th to be exact, but I had to run a class online until noon, as I do every Saturday and Sunday morning. I thought I would be able to do so at the Wick, but I guess I know better moving forward."

"Unfortunately, we had the smallest room with the smallest bathroom (Margaret Room). Normally we don't complain but the experience did not start out well. The toilet seat was loose and it just got worse in the evening. We should have let management know right away but we didn't expect it to fall off. The bathroom sink is narrow and "sideways". I suggested they remove the 2" frame from the bathroom mirror so we could bend down and rinse our mouths out instead of splashing water up to our faces. The rug underneath the bed was old and curled up along it's length which created a trip hazard. For these reasons, I rated maintenance as Poor. However, management was as accommodating as they could be. I requested a room change but they didn't have one available for the duration of our stay. They had maintenance fix the toilet seat and remove the rug in the morning. They offered a complimentary meal in their restaurant which we didn't accept because we had eaten there the night before (delicious) and we had other plans. Unfortunately, we were already unhappy with the room so we decided to leave a day early. We received a refund. If it wasn't for the room, our experience would have been terrific. The staff were all very professional and helpful and the rest of the room amenities were wonderful. We especially loved the 3rd floor exterior patio. I would recommend a stay but view and select the room; and have a delicious meal in the restaurant."
