"Very pleasant and peaceful location, overlooking countryside. Large grounds with a public footpath to the village or the Thames and lakes nearby. All of the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Good base for visiting National Trust and Historic Houses properties. Booking with hotels.com included breakfast. I would have liked to have had a package which included dinner. A fridge in the large superior room would have been nice since the cold water tap rarely gave anything near cold but the bar staff kindly filled my water bottles. Nice comfortable king-size bed and great view from the window, albeit with the swimming pool skylight outside."

The room was comfortable and well-equipped. I had a lovely stay and would recommend the hotel. The dinner menu was also good. The location is a 15–20-minute walk from the town centre. Just bear in mind that it’s at the top of a hill, so some people might find it easier to use a car or taxi. I liked the location as it was still close to town yet peaceful, just as I wanted."
