« L'accueil dans cet hôtel qui fait aussi pub et restaurant est très chaleureux. Les chambres sont assez spacieuse et la literie confortable, même si cela semble un peu vieillot...(c'est peu être à la mode en Angleterre..?) Toutefois, pour ce tarif on y est bien mieux que dans une chaine d'hôtel style F1... Bref pour un séjour sans se ruiner sur Durham et sa région, je recommande vivement cet hôtel ! »

« A pleasant cottage, but there is no access to back garden as 2 very large dogs were there. They also scratch / jump at the back door (in lounge) in the middle of the night! « The barn is situated on a family farm with the owner, Wendy, living in a neighbouring property. We were made to feel incredibly welcome by Wendy, a lovely welcome pack with cake, biscuits and fudge and even treats for our dog. Nothing is too much trouble and the cottage is equipped with all you could need and more. Although there were only two of us when we travelled, it is very spacious and would be ideal for a larger family with ample parking right outside and a lovely courtyard garden area. »

« Well this booking was made on the whole purpose of having a relaxing weekend after running 350km for charity over the past few months. So we booked here for the hot tub and the relevant ease of running a Park Run on the Saturday. After running this Park Run we returned back to the accommodation for our day of in and out of the hot tub. Although this turned out to be turned off so we had an ice bath, not advertised on the website. We then were told that we would get a nights refund for this...

« We fell in love with this property and wish we could have extended our stay for at least a few more days, but we had other plans to move on to. The beautiful home is set upon a hill with amazing views of the countryside. We were able to really disconnect, and traveled to some local places to sightsee within nature, and into town for some dinner (plenty of options in the neighboring villages). « Perfect little cottage for a quiet getaway. My fiance and me were looking for somewhere to unwind from our very hectic lives, and we found it at Tom's Cottage. The cottage itself is extremely welcoming - with an open fire, which was very handy because we were there in February. It's also well equipped with just about everything you'll need for a comfortable stay.The village in which it's located is lovely and serene. The people are very friendly. And the surrounding area is stunningly beautiful....

« We loved the cottage however it wasn’t cleaned to a very good standard. We found someone else’s underwear in the drawers, opened food in the freezer and dirt in the bath on the first day. Cottage was well situated in the village and easily accessible. Local pubs were closed on Monday and Tuesday so not ideal if you want to eat out on these nights. We walked to one pub on the Wednesday to have dinner however we were not greeted in a friendly manner which put us off. We had one drink and left....
