Sister Lake Cottages are 7 cozy cottages located in Dowagiac, Michigan, and are perfect for water lovers! This listing is for unit 7\. Big Crooked Lake and Little Crooked Lake are within 1 mile from the cottage, and they are both all-sports lakes. They are nearly the same size - Little Crooked is 103 acres, Big Crooked 110 - their shape and the lay of the land leave Big Crooked with nearly twice as much shoreline. Not only is this home conveniently located to tourist attractions but great restaurants as well. Take an evening stroll to the Sisters Lakes Brewing company of 14 microbrews produced by the owner's family or the Strand Brewery & Grill. Other dining and shopping are in Dowagiac and nearby towns. There are also public parks in the area as well as golf courses, wineries, breweries, theaters, shopping, and the Four Winds Casino in Dowagiac. The resort town of St. Joseph on Lake Michigan is only 20 minutes away. Looking for a little adventure outside of water sports. Check out the snowmobile trail that runs between Sister Lakes and Grand Rapids and a biking trail that runs between Sister Lakes and the airport in Dowagiac. The surrounding countryside is part of the Michigan fruit belt, with wineries and apple, strawberry, peach, and cherry farms with roadside stands or you-pick excursions. The entire Sister Lake Cottage 7 is for your private use with an easy self-check-in process to accommodate various arrival times. There is a private entrance with your own access code that will function between your check-in and check-out times. Come back after a great day of exploring and enjoy access to a kitchen with a stovetop, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker as well as dishes and utensils. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Enjoy relaxing by the waterfront or bring some kayaks or water toys and enjoy full access to the lake. Guests will find the space to be warm, comfortable, and inviting and the hosts to be responsive and diligent to provide an excellent stay for each guest. Here for a quick visit, enjoy resting in this budget-friendly option with all the needed amenities for a shorter or lengthier stay. This cottage also features a Gigabit Fiber-Optic Internet connection. If you would like to use the grill during your stay please bring a fire starter and charcoal. Also please bring your own wood for the fire pit. Kayaks and Canoes can be rented. Message or call guest services to pay for these amenities in advance. We really enjoyed our time. It's decorated very cute and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The air conditioner works great. We enjoyed taking walks around the nearby lakes. And there is an ice cream/coffee shop/arcade steps away from the cottage, which was fun to visit. We also enjoyed a dinner date right down the road at The Strand. The food was very good! This was the perfect weekend getaway for our 15th anniversary. Walking distance to a few restaurants and in the middle of 3 lakes. Nice outdoor area also. Would have liked a small beach area for those staying at the cottages. Only negative would be the ceiling fan in the bedroom is off balance and made an annoying sound all night. ##### Ann D. There were some things that one could keep in mind the shower water smelled rusted and one of the side of the stove did work making cooking time longer. There’s designated parking spot for each cottage but at times people would park in that space. I really liked the coziness of cottage 7\. We had all of our favorite amenities (fridge, microwave, sink, tv, etc.) to make our stay comfortable. The cottage seemed like it was recently remodeled. It was clean with a welcoming beach theme. The only thing that was missing was closet space or hooks to hang up our jackets. Our cottage (7) was perfect for the two of us. Sage, our contact, was quick to solve a small problem with the coffee maker. Other than that we had everything we needed and felt right at home. Separate cottages and the common areas were great for that purpose. Our cottage had no hanging space for clothes, very noisy, unbalanced fan, and the fan light did not work. Extremely small bathroom that was not all that clean. Not well set up when we arrived. No garbage bags, limited toiletries, and we had 3 plates. Our family in other cottages did not have sufficient plates and glasses and some had no toiletries and a sink backed up. The staff should just make sure that there are 8 plates, bowls, glasses etc. in every cabin. I did communicate with management and they were very responsive. You are not right on the lake but very close and you do have your own dock. The area has many restaurants that are walk able. ##### Gigi D.
