The best area to stay in Dinnyés is the area surrounding Lake Velence, particularly the southern shore near the bird reserve.

This area offers a tranquil setting with direct access to nature and outdoor activities. It's characterised by its proximity to the Dinnyési Fertő Nature Reserve, a significant bird sanctuary, and the lake itself. You'll find a mix of guesthouses and holiday homes scattered amongst green spaces, often with views of the water.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find this area particularly appealing. You can enjoy quiet walks or cycling along the lake shore, explore the bird reserve, or simply relax by the water. The slower pace of life here is great for unwinding and reconnecting.

Families with children will also appreciate the space and outdoor opportunities. Many accommodations offer gardens or easy access to open areas for children to play.

The best time to visit Dinnyés is during the spring (late April to early June) and autumn (September to October) months, when the weather is pleasant and the natural beauty of the region is at its peak.

Spring brings mild temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 22°C, and the countryside bursts into bloom, making it ideal for outdoor activities like birdwatching at Lake Velence or exploring the Dinnyési Fertő Nature Reserve. This period is particularly good for nature enthusiasts and those who enjoy gentle walks and photography.

Autumn offers similarly agreeable temperatures, usually between 12°C and 18°C, with the added beauty of changing foliage. This season is superb for couples seeking a peaceful getaway, perhaps enjoying local wines and the quieter pace of village life. The harvest season also means fresh local produce, which you'll find at markets or in local eateries.

While summer (July and August) is warm, with temperatures often exceeding 25°C, it can be quite busy, especially around Lake Velence. Winter (November to March) is cold and often snowy, which can be picturesque but limits outdoor activities.
