    Montana Hotel Guide

Previously among the most mysterious of the the western states, the state that's called the "Big Sky Country" has become one of the favourite vacation destinations of both U.S. citizens and visitors from other lands. Montana has no true major cities, and most of those who fill the rooms at Montana hotels aren't interested in exploring city life anyway. They are there for the mountains, pristine rivers, lakes, wildflower-laden alpine meadow,s and views of the big blue sky. For this reason, prices at hotels in Montana tend to increase the farther away you get from the few city lights that exist. Budget-minded tourists frequently find cheap hotel deals in Montana cities and pack picnic lunches and dinners for day trips to the forests, lakes, and fields.

Billings is a popular city for those who want to explore the eastern part of the Big Sky Country and book Montana hotel packages for themselves. The nearby Big Horn River is known as one of the best fly-fishing destinations in the American West, and opportunities for fishing are available from March through November. The small community of Fort Smith, which is outside of Billings, is where most fly fishermen look for Montana hotel deals. Some of the top luxury resorts in the state can also be found in this area.

Except for those who go to the Big Horn River for fly fishing, most of the visitors to Montana prefer to remain on the west side of the Rocky Mountains. Missoula is a quaint little college town where it's possible for student travellers who come to participate in outdoor recreation to get discount rates at local hostels as well as special prices on Montana hotels.

Examples of the type of outdoor recreation that can be found in the Missoula area include mountain biking, hiking, boating, swimming, fishing, and camping. Many of those who make reservations for a cheap Montana hotel deal use their rooms as a base camp for exploring the state. Because Montana receives an abundant amount of snow, winter sports are also a huge draw for visitors to hotels in Montana as well.

Our room was large enough to accommodate us and our stuff. The hot tub was broken, but the staff tried to accommodate by offering a sister hotel that we could use their hot tub.

    "Comfortable and Good Location"
The Great Falls Days Inn was the closest motel to the shooting range where we would be shooting for the next several days, so we booked it on a great deal with Expedia. Unfortunately, we didn't specify that we needed a room with a refrigerator since we would be packing lunches. When we checked the website, we saw a photo of a room with a frig, so we thought it would be no problem. Unfortunately, our room did not have that amenity, and since the motel was full we could not move to another room. The clerk kindly told us she would check on a portable unit that we could pay to have in the room. We were very happy, but the unit had no freezer so our ice packs did little good. The motel was in a great location with lots of amenities around. The bed was comfortable, and other than the refrigerator snafu we were happy with the room. The breakfast was basic.

    "Location Location"
This is a Great location steps away from the Big Sky base camp, Mountain Mall, ski lifts, dinning and entertainment. It is easy to find and you can drive up to the front entrance to checkin. The Huntley and the Shoshone are in the same location the Huntley being the original. It is a little older, so there are some creaks and it is a little noisy but semi updated and the rooms are sufficient with a little bar area and mini fridge. They have a Great breakfast buffet, friendly staff and the location can't be beat!
