![The Royal Botanical Gardens were a great place to visit large spaces for a picnic and beautiful trees and shrubs.  The avenues of palm trees are spectacular and the fernery such a lovely, shady place to escape the heat. 

Our favourite part by far are the trees the fruit bats call home; listen, and look up – you'll ear them chattering, and see them hanging upside down with their furry bodies turned to the sun, every so often you'll see one or two stretch their wings, or even fly from one roost to another. These bats, unlike most bats, fly by sight not radar – something I didn't know until I visited this most beautiful park.

« This place is truly a hidden gem, and the staff is absolutely incredible! It should be on everyone’s list when visiting Sri Lanka. The owner is wonderful; she invited my friend and me for tea, picked us up in her SUV since our tuk-tuk couldn't make it up the hill due to an earlier accident, and welcomed us warmly despite our late check-in. She even called the staff in to prepare a delicious dinner for us, including an amazing spread of fried rice fit for a feast. The staff then helped drive our...

« This is a lovely boutique villa in a peaceful and quiet location near the 4th tee of the golf course. From the back porch there is a beautiful view of part of the golf course and green-top mountains across Kandy Lake. The villa is well-maintained by Ramya who looked after us from morning to evening. « De lobby was kil en sfeerloos. Overal felwitte spaarlampen. Slechte acoustiek zoals in een grot. De suite was groot en met gigantische terrassen met zicht al om. Het bed was van goede kwaliteit. De afwerking van de suite liet te wensen over. Er waren overweldigend veel knoppen voor de verlichting (wederom witte spaarlampen). De afwerking kon beter. Geen kitranden, losse wandcontactdozen, losse deurslot. Het bad werd niet warm genoeg. We hebben bijgevuld met de waterkoker. Het diner was een...
