Hotel lacks attention to detail. No plug in the basin despite having asked. Room faced directly onto the car park. Very poor breakfast. Did not dare eat there in the evening.
Big game reserves are the main reason that travellers from all over the world flock to Botswana hotels. Visitors to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, for instance, can expect to see animals such as giraffes, elephants, hippos, cheetahs, lions, and leopards. As the second-largest game park on Earth, the Central Kalahari Game Reserve covers over 52,000-square kilometres of wild land. Fortunately for the budget traveller and those visiting the country in large groups, cheap hotel deals in Botswana are fairly easy to find through companies such as Expedia. Before you finalize your reservations, make sure that you check for special discount rates on hotels in Botswana.
Although Chobe National Park is only the third-largest game reserve in the country, it contains the most biodiversity within its borders, including the world's largest population of African elephants. Other game parks located in Botswana include the Gemsbok National Park and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, although one-quarter of the latter park actually lies within the country of South Africa. Prices remain fairly consistent between the two countries, but you'll generally be able to find better deals on rooms and other travel necessities in Botswana. It is not unusual to locate a particularly good, cheap Botswana hotel deal during various parts of the year.
Besides abundant wildlife viewing opportunities, you will be able to see over 4,000 rock paintings in the northwestern region of Botswana in the Tsodilo district. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tsodilo has an abundance of spiritual significance to local people as well as being the site of the first known human rituals. Most of the rock paintings are of various animals, and the oldest known one is believed to be depicting the head of a python. Some of the artifacts found in Tsodilo are over 70,000 years old.
Many of the best Botswana hotel deals are located in the northern part of the country, which has its own unique culture and contains notable artistic communities where the women weave baskets and color them with dyes produced from local plants. Sculptures and paintings are also well represented in top Botswana art galleries. Whether you want to see the legendary big game animals of the African savannah or feel drawn to Botswana because of the people and their culture, you can book Botswana hotel packages through Expedia and turn your dreams into reality.
