"We were happy to have found this spot with an amazing view of the sea. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was just what we needed and had gf options. Staff was friendly at the front desk. This hotel has charm and character throughout, guests made to feel really welcome, pick fruit from the garden, help themselves to drinks (and pay for them on the honesty sheet), and the complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival was a lovely touch. We were very disappointed that we were only staying for 2 nights in this very highly recommended hotel. Huge choice for breakfast too - magical!"

Barcelo Funchal Oldtown

Barcelo Funchal Oldtown

8/10 Good
"We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights and really enjoyed our stay. You can’t beat the location. The rooms are a bit small and to look at the view I needed to stand on a chair but I knew that when I booked it so all good. We enjoyed drinks at the restaurant and lived the live music. We used the rooftop pool almost daily and it’s great place to watch the sunset or look at the stars late at night. We would recommend it."
