"Hotel Ristorante La Terrazza was the perfect base for a 4-day trip to Assisi and its surroundings. It's conveniently located near main attractions and just a 5-minute drive from the city center. The restaurant was excellent, the pool was well-maintained, and the location is simply stunning."

"Awesome hotel! The rooms, toilets and eating areas are very clean. The owners/staffs are very nice and courteous and helpful. This place felt like home away from home. Highly recommended and will stay here again when we come back to Assisi. Highly recommended!"

"è stato un ottimo soggiorno con camere molto comode e spaziose, la pulizia è molto buona, la colazione è più che sufficiente, unico neo è che di sera non è abbastanza illuminato e l'insegna non è molto visibile"

The hotel was very nice and clean, and the breakfast was amazing. However, the front desk service could be improved. There was a really nice lady who helped us check in, but another one who picked up the phone at front desk (July 20th evening) and sighed before answering my ONE question, indicating she did not want to deal with me. I felt poorly treated at that moment and would have expected more from such a nice hotel. It was quite rude.

Parking was a little tight on the property, but some guests used a large open parking lot across the street. The hosts were hands-on incredible, friendly and helpful. And then there was a daily breakfast buffet with fresh cakes directly from 'Nona's Kitchen'. OMG good. The Internet was strong and reliable and the SmartTV in our guest room allowed us to catch a few movies from our Canadian Netflix account by simply scanning a QR Code on our cellphone. Highly recommended!

Superb in every way. Parking abs breakfast included. Staff, especially Alexandra on front desk were very helpful and professional. We were offered an upgrade and room change when a tap wouldn't stop dripping. Only disappointed. Pool closed permanently.

Everything spotless, parking on premises lots of it. We chose breakfast included was worth it. The room was spacious enough bathroom in separate room with bidet, toilet shower and sink . I found the bed to be a bit in the hard side as well as pillows however factoring everything that was just perfect it wasn’t a deal breaker. Building is year 1200 it used to be part home part stable. Absolutely gorgeous arched wood doors windows shutters. Lorena and her husband Gianpietro were extremely...

Great place to stay in, near the station, great staff, newly renovated rooms, parking cross the street for free. The only thing missing is an elevator if you have a lot of luggage. Loved the experience.

We spent 3 nights at B&B Cantico delle Creature and loved every minute. The location is unbeatable — tucked right under the old city walls, within easy walking distance of all the main sights: the Basilica of San Francesco, Rocca Maggiore, and Assisi's charming cobblestone lanes. You can trek everywhere on foot, or drive and use the designated parking spots nearby. Restaurants, cafés, and shopping are just steps away.
Breakfast was AAA — fresh pastries, local cheeses and cured meats, jams,...

High up on a mountain in a small medieval town. Magnificent views from the rooms, pool outdoor restaurant. The rooms are nice with all amenities. The staff were helpful . Dinner and breakfast were delicious. I was with my 2 daughters and they were given a two room suite. You could sit on the balcony beside the pool for days. Great ombience.

The best area to stay in Costano is within the historic centre, particularly around Piazza Garibaldi.
This area is the heart of Costano, characterised by its historic buildings, narrow cobbled streets, and a relaxed pace of life. Piazza Garibaldi is the main square, often bustling with locals and home to several cafes and small shops. The centre is pedestrian-friendly, making it easy to explore on foot.
Couples looking for a romantic and quiet escape will find the historic centre ideal. You're close to local trattorias serving authentic Umbrian cuisine and can enjoy evening strolls through the charming streets. The central location also provides easy access to the town's main church, Chiesa di San Francesco, and offers a glimpse into local life.
For families, staying slightly outside the immediate historic centre, but still within a short walk, offers more space and potential for properties with gardens or pools. These areas often provide a good balance of accessibility to the town's amenities while offering a bit more room for children to play.
When is the best time to go to Costano?
The best time to go to Costano, Umbria, Italy, is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.
During spring, the countryside is verdant with blooming wildflowers, and the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for exploring Costano's historic centre and the surrounding Umbrian hills. You'll find comfortable temperatures for walking through the olive groves and vineyards, and the towns are generally less crowded than in the peak summer season.
Autumn offers similarly agreeable weather, with warm, sunny days great for outdoor activities. This is also harvest season, so you'll have the opportunity to experience local food festivals celebrating olives, truffles, and new wine. The changing colours of the foliage across the landscape provide a beautiful backdrop for photography and leisurely drives.
While summer (July and August) can be warm, it's a popular time for visitors who enjoy sunnier days and evening events.
