Bunkers Seafood Restaurant located next door, same proprietor, was great. The waitress even taught us how to eat whole boiled lobster. If you want the city excitement of Bar Harbor, you won't find it here, but if you are looking for REAL Maine, this is the spot. Schoodic Point offers better rocky coast access with very few people. There is an entrance to Acadia about 5 min away and it leads you to the more quite side of the park which was wonderful. "My husband and I just came back from a two night stay. We loved everything about our room. The location was convenient. When the details say it’s a 3 min walk into the shops, they’re not kidding. Plenty of parking for those who are staying there. The room was very clean. The cleanliness of a bathroom is a big deal to me and it was very clean. Plenty of towels for the two of us for our stay. Never had to request more. They supplied you with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar of soap, cotton swaps, nail files, cotton balls, and make up wipes. They had a blow dryer, ironing board (which was in good condition, not stained like others I’ve seen), and an iron. In the main office you can get complimentary water, coffee ( which smelt delicious!), oatmeal cups, popcorn, yogurt, and some other items. The help at the front desk was very kind. We would definitely stay again."

"We would have appreciated some type of simple breakfast items to go with the coffee bar area in the check in area. Maybe a bowl of apples and a tray of wrapped granola bars... or bags of trail mix and some bananas. "This is a basic property and perfect for having a safe and clean place to lay your head after a day of hiking in Acadia National Park. It’s set on the water (Atlantic Ocean) … no beach…. Looks like a lake because of all the little islands)…and during low tide, you’ll see people out on the ocean floor digging for clams). Staff is helpful… beds are okay…. Good hot water for showers. No microwave and bathroom vanity space is small. There were two of us sharing. Like they say…. Location matters and this property is right on the scenic road to take you to Acadia National Park. We very much enjoyed the Farmstand Coffee House for breakfast every day… 5 minutes down the road."

"Beautiful and quiet location. We really enjoyed the ocean and seeing both sunrise and sunset. We heard lots of wildlife and enjoyed the privacy. The home isn't kept in the best condition. Torn linoleum and screens. Wobbly dining table (which my son tightened) and worn deck boards and railings. Disorganized and not always clean kitchen utensils and dishes."

"This was the perfect rental for our family reunion. We had 17 people stay comfortably at this property. You could definitely house more! The great benefit is the bathrooms and showers. There is a bathroom in each room which was a selling point with so many people. Industrial kitchen, coffee pot and toaster were used regularly as well as the 3 refrigerators. There is a smaller 4th fridge for drinks if you need it. We like the calmness of the area. We traveled to the main entrance of Acadia and decided we preferred the less chaotic Schoodic side of Acadia which is right near this house. Schoodic Point is 5 minutes. Bonus is that this property has great trails to hike within the property. Ben was a fabulous host. I would stay again."
