Large comfortable room. Staff was friendly and very helpful

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at The Hibernation Station. The location was perfect for our day trips. It is not luxurious but served us well. The owners were friendly and helpful. The lady cleaning rooms was very nice too. We could get extra supplies on our own or ask her or owners. I liked the locks on the doors. They could use some new mattresses and towels. Also they had the best shower of the 3 places we have stayed in Alaska. I hope this nice young couple have success with The Hibernation Station!

What a great experience! The Yurt was great! It was super clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable! There is no bathroom in the Yurt - - there are portable toilets and a shower a short walk away. Overall I would recommend this for a unique Alaska experience!

I checked into Uptown Motel on May 20, 2026. I stayed till May 25th, 2026. During that time my room was only cleaned one time. The 3rd day of my stay. I had to ask to get some clean towels and have my garbage taken out. The little girl at the desk was very sweet and did get me fresh towels, but the bed linen was never changed in my room the whole stay. Breakfast....I went into the dining room on one morning. I asked for the Eggs Benedick. It looked so good in the menu. I asked for the eggs to to over medium, Not running, Also asked to have the hashbrowns extra crispy. Well, eggs were running and hashbrowns were just whitist and warm. I ate a few bites and got up and paid my bill and left. I am sorry that this place has gone down hill so much. I have stayed here 4 years ago and it was great. This time left a poor taste in my mouth. The staff were nice, but, nothing was said to a refund on the food or lack of cleaning in my room. All they said was sorry???

The rooms are very small. The sink is located in with the main room, not within a bathroom. They do not have 24/7 complimentary coffee. The breakfast was pretty good for a hotel buffet. The pool is tiny and everything in that room is rusted and it is very hot and humid. They definitely have a humidity control issue. We stayed 4 days and had to change out our own trash, ask for towels etc. all but 1 day. Overall, location is convenient and it is clean, just poor upkeeping.
