Depending on where you’re coming from, your trip to Forks could be completely painless or it could go on forever. We’ve pulled together some handy hints that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you’ll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight is as simple as your choice in clothes. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. That way you’ll stay nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like high heels and sandals are best left for other occasions. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will thank you later.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression tights or socks is also recommended.
