Cool Guest House. Close to Uptown. Walk Everywhere

Summary:
** Parties and events are not allowed at this property **
** No loud activity allowed past 9pm at this property **
** Noise from upstairs guests can often be heard **

A great guest space with total privacy and it's own entrance, patio, and fire pit. Wesley heights is a cool historic district and one of the few neighborhoods that's a short walk to center city.

The Space:
Walk to uptown in 10 mins, Johnson Whales University in 9 mins, Bank of America stadium in 8 mins, 3rd Ward Park in 3 min, Frazier Park in less than 60 secs. Or walk 10 mins to Wesley Heights' downtown area (lots of bars & restaurants). $5 Uber ride to Noda, Southend, Plaza Midwood, and other cool areas. This is a wonderful in-law suite with a private entrance and private patio. The space has totally privacy from the main home, but both can be rented at the same time if desired (just check out my other listings and look for "Charming home, historic district, walk to the city"). This wonderful home has been totally remodeled with brand new kitchen and bathroom. The back patio is also fully fenced in, completely private, has a lovely fire pit (wood provided!), plenty of chairs, and a gas grill too. You'll have access to the entire suite. It is downstairs from the main home (also an Airbnb), but completely separate, with total privacy and its own entrance. Both homes can be rented at the same time to accommodate even larger groups if available. And there is plenty of free street parking. I am available for questions or help at any time. Contact me as much or as little as you'd like :) Of all Charlotte’s historic neighborhoods, Wesley Heights may be the best-kept secret. Located due west of Uptown and within a stone’s throw of Bank of America Stadium, this enclave dates back to the early 1900s. Protected as an Historical District, a drive through the neighborhood’s leafy streets tells you that most of its Arts and Crafts homes are in good stead today. The elegant Wadsworth Estate on South Summit Avenue, just 2 blocks away, thrives as a popular event venue. The greenway that runs through the north part of the neighborhood (only a short walk away) is much-used by neighbors for exercise and sociability. Convenience is key to Wesley Heights’ popularity. The neighborhood sits just outside the I-77/I-277 loop circling uptown Charlotte, and the entrance to I-77 is a half-mile away. With shady suburban streets combined with quick access to uptown, Wesley Heights holds the same appeal for Charlotte urbanites today as when it was originally built. Getting around Charlotte is easy from Wesley Heights. The neighborhood borders major roads like I-77, Morehead Street, 4th Street, and Freedom Drive for a quick drive anywhere in the city.

** Because you're so close to the city, you can often hear city noises (traffic, etc) while on the back patio; the inside of the home is perfectly quiet, although it is below the main home and you will sometimes hear footsteps from above.

Guest Access:
You'll have access to the entire suite. It is downstairs from the main home (also an Airbnb), but completely separate, with total privacy and its own entrance. Both homes can be rented at the same time to accommodate even larger groups if available. And there is plenty of free street parking.

Great location to stadium.
Property was as explained and was walking distance to Bank of America Stadium and a short walk to restaurants and breweries. Everything was great however if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. Pay attention to the owners comments about being able to hear walking upstairs. Now I know why it comes with earplugs. I would rent again if attending a game or concert in the area.

Perfect place for a girls weekend
This place was the perfect location for a weekend long girl’s weekend trip. It was EXTREMELY clean (not a spec of dust) and just as pictured. I was worried a basement rental would have a smell but not at all. It had everything we needed (comfy beds, plenty of towels, soft linens, great coffee selection, & kitchen basics). The host was so responsive, very thorough answering any questions I could possibly have. Location was close to major attractions and many restaurants (not walking distance in my opinion but a very short car ride). I read so many complains about noise but we had no issues. I highly recommend this place.

Perfect place for us!
We were in town for a few days to explore the city and catch a Panthers game. This place was perfect! It was close to everything! Easy walk to the stadium, 7 minute drive to the Nascar HOF, and lots of restaurants I'm a ten minute drive radius. The property was clean and stocked with the essentials. It was nice to be able to cook breakfast before heading out for the day, and fix a snack at night. There was noise from upstairs, but if you've ever lived in an apartment with someone above, it shouldn't bother you. The neighborhood was quiet and cute. Definitely recommend this property!

Easy check in. Loved the apartment, and the cute patio area. Clean and comfortable. Street parking, no problem. There are upstairs neighbors and they got noisy, but earplugs were provided, and we'd stay again. 😊

Looks just like the pictures. The walk to downtown is 15 minutes but a nice walk. You can hear the people upstairs and the road close by. But was able to get a good nights sleep. Overall, I would stay here again.

Not really walking distance but better than a hotel
Nice place overall it is a little over mile from the stadium. Also, might want to bring a sound machine the people above are heavy footed and the traffic can be a little loud for light sleepers. We fortunately brought ours so wasn’t an issue. The beds are comfortable. The unit overall was lovely and well done.

Fabulous location & CLEAN
My daughters (20 & 18) and I (40) were in town for a small event so we had some time to explore. This house is in a beautiful neighborhood and VERY close to downtown! You could walk, but the drive is short and parking wasn't an issue for us. They've done a nice job with this basement apartment- clean, updated, cozy, safe, and the beds were AMAZING!!! So thankful for that part because beds are always a hit or miss when traveling! Bathroom was CLEAN and water pressure great! Could use some rugs and a rubber mat in tub for safety, but that's just our personal preference - it's a little slick in there! Kitchen has enough room for quick & easy meals, but only has the basics for real cooking!! If you want to cook a lot, bring your own spices or stop by grocery store. We just needed a spot for a few snacks, coffee, and drinks. Again - SUPER CLEAN and had what we needed! People were staying upstairs and someone washed laundry late at night, but WE were unbothered and don't really understand how people walking upstairs is any worse than the sounds of the highway during the day. We didn't have an issue with any of the "noise" - it's just signs of the living & we're okay with that. Host was quick to answer questions and home was as described and beyond expectations! Comfortable and cozy, clean and close to Downtown, great price and great host! Thanks again for a great stay!

If there are guest above you the footsteps are noticable but bearable. Very quiet neighborhood & literally next door to Uptown.

Excellent location.
All the reviews were spot on. The place is adorable (love the dog photos) and very clean. Plenty of towels and linens. Everything we needed. Only “issue” was noise but truly only an issue if you are a very light sleeper. But the owner left earplugs which was an unexpected pleasure. We will definitely stay again.

just as described
The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is super clean. The provided extension cord with extra outlets near the bed is convenient and useful. The home was set to a cool temperature which we adjusted to our comfort with the well-functioning a/c. The laundry and dishwasher work well. The kitchen is minimally supplied for basic cooking. The outdoor path motion and string lights are very helpful in navigating the rock path. Wifi was great. Being near downtown and in a neighborhood, the expected sounds of traffic, neighbors and their barking dogs (at 7a) are heard from inside the house. As mentioned by others, the upstairs noise is significant. The footfalls alone are extremely loud, particularly from the children running back and forth. I imagine adults staying above might not be so loud. The owner sent clear communication about checkin and checkout. He was responsive about a significant issue. We appreciated the family, cooking and sleeping spaces. We would stay here again.

Nice Place very noisey
THE GOOD: The place looked just like the photos. Bed was comfortable, kitchen equipped fairly well. Parking was easy plenty of space on the street. THE BAD: NOISE: I knew something was up when there were about 6 pairs of ear plugs in the towel basket. Being a basement apartment, I didn't realize how bad the upstairs noise would be downstairs. The wood floors upstairs made existing downstairs impossible. You would hear every little thing the other rents did. Heck I could even here a dog thumping its tail on the floor. Outside are was very loud form the street/highway in the backyard. However I didn't sit out there so it wasn't an issue for me. The sofas were literally on the floor. The legs have been removed and are in the a kitchen cabinet. This made sitting and getting up from the sofa very difficult. I really don't think my mother would have been able to use the sofa if she stayed here. The dirty lines form the previous rents upstairs and downstairs were in bags at the back door for 3 days, which was a minor inconvenience. Sorry to say, but I will not be renting this place again.

Would've Been Perfect..
There is very poor insulation in the ceilings, as this is a downstairs unit with an upstairs space that is also rented out. We were there for 3 nights and every night we had trouble sleeping because of the disturbing people upstairs. They were extremely rude and stayed up til 3 am, dragging things around and stomping and shouting. The stay would've been perfect if not for them. There's a Roku TV, smart thermostat, blender, dishwasher, lots of outlets to plug into, a hairdryer, a pretty big closet for storage. The beds and couches were really comfortable! I even looked up the brand of the comforter, I want some for myself. The place is beautifully renovated. The kitchen has a big sink. The shower has great water pressure and a big bath tub, and the water heats up right away. They offer towels, dishware and silverware, pots and pans, small shampoo and conditioner, kitchen knives, cutting board, oven, microwave, stove, and a washer and dryer unit. If I were to recommend any addition, please install insulation in the ceiling! A toaster would be nice, maybe a kettle, or supplement some ear plugs in advance if you know that people will be staying upstairs.

IT WAS LITTY IN THE CITY!!!
I’M GOING TO KEEP IT PLAIN & SIMPLE!!!! This property had a modern feel and it was spacious! My brothers and I enjoyed our time in Charlotte. This place was the icing on the cake. It was cleaned thoroughly and it had a homey feel to it. Everything worked properly and words cannot express how nice it was on the inside. The pictures do no justice. We had constant access to the property owner and they responded within minutes of an inquiry. We were able to drop our bags off early before check in; and by the time we got back all we had to do was CHILL! BEWARE of the AC though... We put it on 68 and it was an ice box! IT WORKED 😂😂😂😂 The path with the light for the night time also helped out ! We are COMPLETELY SATISFIED with this property and will be back!!!
