Oct. 10, 2019I would stay in Chaniawhen in Crete over Heraklion. The main thing to do near Heraklion is Knossos and I'd just travel to see the palace of Knossos for 1 day of my visit.

Oct. 8, 2019Be prepared to walk a fair amount, but it is all beautiful and charming. Learn to unwind, relax and take things as they come. There is an awful lot of remarkably nice stuff to see and experience just off the beaten path.
