"We truly enjoyed our stay overall. The cabin is beautiful, and it's obvious the owner has put a great deal of thought and care into the decor. The setting is peaceful, and there are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. We made new memories, saw some things that brought back old ones, and were able to truly relax.The only downside, and unfortunately it was a significant one for us, was the water. We understood the home uses well water, but we weren't prepared for the very strong sulfur smell and dark yellow discoloration. The odor was so overwhelming that we couldn't enjoy the jetted tub. We used bottled water for brushing our teeth and making coffee, kept our showers extremely short because of the smell, and we chose not to wash our hair during our stay. I had also planned to use the washer and dryer, but decided against it because I wasn't comfortable washing our clothes in the water.I understand that well water is common in rural areas, and this wasn't something we expected to be completely different. However, if this is typical for the property, it would be helpful to mention it in the listing or consider providing bottled drinking water for guests. That small gesture would make a big difference and help guests prepare.Overall, we had a wonderful time. The home itself was LOVELY, the location was beautiful, and we left with great memories. This is a special place, and with better communication about the water, it would be an easy five-star stay for us."

"The property was so clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay. The place was stocked with everything we needed for a week’s stay. It was so close to Shenandoah National Park and all the other places we wanted to see. Audrey was so easy to communicate with the whole time. 10/10 would go back again!"

"This place is excellent. For being an older cabin built in the woods and right next to a river, the entire place was extremely clean. The host was also extremely easy to get ahold of which is an absolute plus. One thing to note, if you have little kids (3-5 year olds) this may not be the place for you solely just because of the house setup with steep steps. It could just be my kids, we have 3 feral country kids that are constantly getting into things they aren’t supposed to and have selective hearing.Other than that very minor issue which was entirely on me, the cabin is absolutely perfect for people who want to unwind in silence with no cellular service. The cabin does have strong WiFi so communication isn’t completely cut off. The bathrooms could use updating, but for all intents and purposes you are renting an older cabin in the woods and not a 5 star resort. The kitchen is absolutely perfect with newer appliances and a myriad of cooking utensils that will come in handy. The beds are also very comfortable with clean sheets and clean towels provided, not to mention the couches were very clean and comfortable. The host clearly takes pride in quick responses and being clean. This cabin would be perfect for couples looking to get away."

"Kelli, the host, was great. We had a little trouble operating the outdoor gas fireplace when we arrived. Kelli sent someone to check it out and even replaced the gas bottle just in case, all while we were enjoying the caverns just down the road. Turns out it was me, not the fireplace. We had a great stay, the deck was great. We cooked out on a very cool charcoal grill. (I was intimidated at first, but everything turned out great.) Loved the hot tub too even though the weather was a little warm.We loved the house and it's old house charm. We were cool and cozy. We gave the kitchen a workout too. We had a big breakfast together every morning. The 4 of just seemed to assemble for coffee and hang out with each other until it was time to start the days adventure.We loved the Carillon, it played shortly after we settled in and again as we sat out on the balcony one evening. We could see the Luray Caverns site from the house and made it our first days adventure. The caverns and on site museums were worth the trip from Pennsylvania alone. We cruised Skyline Drive, Visited Cooters Place, and made an excursion just to see our first Buc-ee's. We had a great time at great place in an amazing location."
