Sleep Inn & Suites Fort Walton Beach - Destin West

10/10 Excellent

"Very convenient and quite place"

Paradise inn

8/10 Good

"Let me preface this with we had booked a 2 night stay but my husband got ill and we had to leave early, so perhaps I didn't give it a chance. Nice hotel with an Old Florida feel, but nothing that wowed me. The rooms clean but reminded me of a Jersey shore motel, small, cramped and underwhelming. Great views of the water, however, and nice bar available. The people at the front desk were very nice. I would stay here again perhaps for a 1 night stay. Nice that they let pets stay free, though. My cat loved the place!"

Wavecrest Lodge

10/10 Excellent

"Pros: The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable and had a microwave and mini fridge. Hotel was peaceful and not noisy. Swimming pool was really nice with a gradual walk-in and was shallow on that end, which was really nice for small children. There was a nice walkway right down to the beach. Lots of places to eat and drink within walking distance. Breakfast was great with both hot and cold options (eggs, meat, cereal, muffins, bagels, oatmeal, etc.). Con: There are two elevators and only one was working on the first day. Then on the second day we got trapped in the only working elevator up on the third floor and had to call 911 because the help button and alarm wouldn’t work in the elevator. That was a very unpleasant experience as it was not air conditioned in the elevator, my 5 year old granddaughter was freaking out, and I was just praying that the elevator didn’t drop. Thankfully they got us out of there and later that day both elevators appeared to be working (I took the stairs). I still really like the hotel, just very uncomfortable with the elevators…"

Sundrift Inn

10/10 Excellent

"My wife and I had a great experience staying at the Sundrift last week. It was our first time visiting the Destin / Fort Walton area of Florida, so we didn’t fully know what to expect, but the location of this hotel was perfect- right on the beach. It was a quieter beach than other hotels / resorts in the area, so we enjoyed the peace and quiet at this particular location. There also was a really good pizza place in between the hotel and beach, so that was convenient for a quick lunch on the beach or sitting by the hotel pool. Other than the location of the hotel, I’d say the other standout aspect of the Sundrift was the staff. Everyone we interacted with there was friendly and helpful. One of the staff members in particular (Anekia) was extremely helpful in accommodating us the first day we arrived, and in the following days of our stay as well. There’s also a very good Italian restaurant and bar on location at the hotel. The bar had a great happy hour, which we enjoyed on a couple of occasions, and the bartender (CJ) was friendly and attentive. As far as our room, it was very clean when we arrived, and the house keeping made sure our room was fully cleaned on a daily basis. It was also very quiet through the night. The only reason I’m giving the room 4 stars instead of 5 is that there was a bit of wear and tear, although certainly not significant. There also weren’t many wall hooks in the room and bathroom to hang towels, wet clothes from the beach, etc, although again,"

Hilton Pensacola Beach

8/10 Good

"We showed up and everything was clean. All the personnel was there and ready for us, we had a electric vehicle TESLA, and I don’t care who has a problem with that!!!!!, and the charging stations were available for us so we could charge our TESLA vehicle, the facility was awesome and right on the water. It was beautiful."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Caribbean Isle?

The best time to go to Caribbean Isle is during the dry season, which runs from December to May, offering warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine.

During these months, you can expect average daily temperatures ranging from 24°C to 29°C, with lower humidity and very little rain. This makes it ideal for enjoying the island's many outdoor activities, such as relaxing on the beaches, exploring the nature trails, or taking part in water sports. The sea is also at its calmest and clearest during this period, great for snorkelling and diving.

For those looking for a quieter experience, late April and May are particularly good. The peak season crowds have thinned out, but the weather remains excellent.

Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?

Many Expedia hotel reservations are refundable, provided that you cancel before the hotel's cancellation deadline – this is often within 24-48 hours of your scheduled arrival. If you have a non-refundable booking, it might still be possible to receive a refund if you cancel it within 24 hours of booking.
