I found the staff inexperienced and I had to repeatedly ask for things to be done. Calls to the front desk for things had to be re-done after waiting an hour with no action/response.
When asked why this was the case on two occasions - "other things got in the way ... (and they forgot) "

The heat in the hotel wasn’t working and it was very inconvenient for us.
We were given room heaters and things went downhill from there. You don’t expect to be handed room heater's in a hotel that’s charging top dollar for accommodation and also parking. It’s surprising that they are able to do this to customers in Canada where it’s usually cold even in the summer.
However the staff were very warm and friendly and did their best to accommodate us. I give 10/10 to all the staff working there and everyone was very warm and welcoming.

Hi there, We are very sorry about the heat. We are in the process of installing a new AC system and are in the final stages. With this final stage we needed to turn the heat off for them to complete the work. You are right, the staff is amazing! Needed a place to stay for a couple of days while work was being done on our house. Hotel and staff were good but parking was a joke. Payed $15.00 per night but the gates were up the whole time so others used the parking for free.

The hotel is ranked well but my experience was not good. Room at no heat when it was -2 outside. Called and told heat was turned off this time of year, mid April. They gave us a small heater and then I was told rooms get to warm when heat is on. Then night manager called to ask if I needed another heater and he informed me the HVAC is being replaced. Slept in the bed with clothes and jacket on, got in the shower in the morning and no hot water. Agree it is probably a nice hotel but I didn’t experience that. Not sure what the issue was but no heat and hot water is not good. Decided to check out very early so my family could warm up in the car. Hotel took $50’off the bill. I found the staff friendly but got different answers on why heat was off. Although I won’t return to Simons it could have just been a bad maintenance issue, regardless they should not be letting booking go with no heat or hot water.

First time staying since the property was renovated. Everything was excellent. The renovations have the place looking fantastic. Look forward to coming back for another stay.
We were given a room that had an adjoining room. We could hear people talking until the early hours of the morning. We had a 5am flight out and had very little sleep. We would stay at the hotel again if we did not have a adjoining room.

Renovations are still underway but seem to be mostly done. Our suite was renovated and while it was nothing over the top it looked nice and was quite comfortable. Good view down the harbour. The black out blinds are really great. Staff is very friendly and outgoing. We ate in the restaurant 3 nights and it is a comfortable place with good service. Try the seafood chowder--it is on the starters menu but it is a hearty delicious meal. All in all a good centre town location, on the water, quiet.
The room was beautiful & food from Trio was delicious. But unfortunately there must have been about 50 children running up and down the hallways at night time and early morning being extremely loud; which was a disappointment and ruined the rest of my stay.

Was not aware that parking was extra until check in, not impressed. Room was clean and comfortable but had to get heat adjusted, too hot. Very difficult to turn on shower, had to get assistance, and water was very discoloured.
We really liked this hotel. The staff was friendly. The room we got was very spacious and well laid out. Bedding was comfy. We loved the dining table and big windows with view of the water. The room was clean. However, we stayed with our little dog and was clearly in a “dog friendly” room that had some stains on the carpet from previous pets. But the location was great if you travel with your dog. Lots of grassy areas around the hotel and right on the boardwalk for little dog walkies. Also one of the bathroom doors didn’t shut all the water.

The room itself was wonderful, perfect for kids with the separate rooms with lots of space. Our ironing board broke upon use. Turning the corner to go to the bathroom the shelf above the toilet sticks out a little too far and three out of five of us hit our heads on it entering the bathroom. Leaving we had to pay for parking which was a bit of a disappointment after breakfast was not continental and a quite over priced. Overall the staff was friendly and the rooms were decent.
