The property was perfect; The rooms were great and very clean. it had everything we needed. Marco (host) went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. "Great Bear is a lovely chalet with breathtaking views in a unique environment. I cannot think of a better summer escape, given the stunning surroundings of the Val Hérens, the local cuisine, produce, meat products, and delicious wines. The chalet fits the rustic character of the tiny village perfectly, while affording the necessary comforts for an Alpine stay. Absolutely LOVED IT!!!"

"The house was a bit small for a group of 7. I can't imagine 9 people. The WiFi password would not work and it seemed the LAN cable for connecting to the internet was missing. We had to use our mobile data the whole stay. Other than that, it was fine and did the trick to house our group for 2 nights."

"This was our second trip to this property and it was still great. Situated on the mountainside , in a small quiet cluster of properties, its only 5-10 minute drive to 2 gondolas accessing the ski slopes. The skiing was great. The property is very clean and comfortable. We hired both the house and apartment below, which has an indoor adjoining staircase. The children loved the bedrooms in the eaves. We mostly self catered and had everything that we needed. Loved lighting a fire for the soapstone...

"Alpenruh had a great staff, delicious dining, beautiful views, and comfy, clean rooms. It was very close to the cable car drop off on the east side of town, so that was convenient. The balcony was spacious, and the room was a decent size too. It was very quiet. Staff let us store our luggage onsite both on early arrival and late departure to and from Mürren. There is a lovely walk from Mürren down to Gimmelwald that takes about 30 minutes."
