"I’ll start by saying that upon arrival, I was told they are renovating. To say the Suburban property was a dump, would be a compliment. The room they assigned us was awful! When I opened the door to the room a very heavy musky smell met me. Looking down at the floor, the carpet was VERY stained and looked dirty. No way my wife and I were going to stay in this room. The clerk, Gerald, was the only good thing I can say about this. He told me that was the room I was assigned and was the only king bed available. I asked to get a different room. He put me in another room that looked as if it had been renovated. I accepted it which was probably a mistake on my part. When we brought our luggage in the room I noticed a bathroom that needed some serious attention. The caulking looked like they had 1st graders applying it with their fingers. Chipped tub exposing metal. Rusted door frames. Rusted chairs and light fixtures. We woke up the next morning and found several small but dead roaches on the floor. At this point we just wanting to get out of there! This was absolutely the worst hotel room I have booked through Hotels.com. If this is the type of room that Hotels.com allows within its program then it will influence my decision for future bookings."

"Staff did not speak very good English and didn’t. I couldn’t understand them. The microwave was filling. The tiles in the shower were dirty those dirt and dents on the walls. The Wi-Fi did not work. The phone did not work. The place was disgusting."

"Property was old, but it looked like they were in process of remodeling. Room wasn't fully clean. Beds were comfortable & clean, but there were hairs on floor & in bathroom. Though it was near road & railroad it was quiet. Very convenient for going to Okefenokee NWR."

"Skip's place is a hidden gem right on the St. Marys River close to the Okefenokee Swamp. It is definitely rustic, but in the best ways. Small living/sleeping areas, but great wrap around deck and screened in porch that overlook the river. We enjoyed using the provided canoe, making a fire in the fire pit and generally relaxing "off the grid". Small fridge and freezer, so bring a cooler and some ice for extra storage of staying a few days. "
