"Hotel was ok, air conditioning stopped working on the last night but apart from that in good condition. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful although the head waiter was quite an unpleasant character. Breakfast was good and location lovely. "
"Great location, nice pool. Hotel room was small and comfortable but for the pillows but we managed with the bed cushions. We also had a little balcony which was excellent. Good breakfast and the coffee was very nice. The night watchman even went out of his way and made us coffee on our 5am departure. Only suggestion would be some tea bags, milk etc and a kettle in the room. "

"Excellent location and great staff. This is a family owned hotel that is perfect for a nice stay in Orvieto. I will be returning here. Gianni, the owner, gave us all kinds of wonderful recommendations and even described some of the town’s history to us. We would highly recommend it."
"Can't recommend a stay here more highly! The hotel, in a fortress, is utterly amazing. Staff goes above and beyond and breakfast was wonderful. Definitely do the Etruscan hollow caves night excursion. Our guide was Erica and she was excellent. "
A verified traveller stayed at Hotel della Fortezza
"The place was nice, especially the outdoors, but inside it was quite hot. They say they have central air conditioning, but it felt like no AC at all. That made the stay uncomfortable especially in this hot summer. "
