You want a great location, spectacular setting, warm and welcoming ambiance, and enough room for everyone to relax, explore and enjoy the surroundings and each other. Well, look no further because you'll find all that and more at Colby's Cabin. Beautifully designed and decorated in rustic style with a comfortable, cozy and inviting feel, this spacious cabin has all the amenities of a home away from home and the privacy and beauty of your own private wooded oasis. Just 10 miles from the shops and restaurants of downtown Blue Ridge, 5 minute drive to Lake Blue Ridge, and close to hiking and biking trails and the Toccoa River for kayaking and fishing, this hillside showplace is nestled among towering trees, amid thousands of forested acres, with a creek running through the property. The owner bought the cabin to give his Siberian husky Colby a safe, fun place to run free and enjoy nature, and you're invited to do the same with your canine best friends (as long as they're flea-free). Enjoy the fresh mountain air as you relax in the incredible outdoor living space, with its roomy decks, ample seating, and screened-in porch that features a wood-burning fireplace and 55” flat screen TV. There's a gas grill, swing chairs, a hot tub with room for six, and down below, a fire pit, perfect for roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. Inside, the cabin is airy and open, with a nature theme (notice the bear accents) and comfy furniture that invites you to kick back and relax. You can warm yourself in front of the gas fireplaces and enormous flat screen TVs on the main and lower levels, equipped with DirecTV. The game room offers a pool table, PlayStation3 with games, Blu-ray player, and sound bar for your entertainment pleasure. At mealtime, you'll find everything you need in the fully equipped kitchen, outfitted with stainless steel gas appliances, wood cabinets, granite countertops, and track lighting. The dining table seats six. Have a big family or group of friends? No problem. Colby's Cabin can accommodate 8 guests in its four bedrooms. The main floor master bedroom has a king bed, deck access, 40” flat screen TV and private bath with jetted tub and shower. The second main floor bedroom, also with king bed and deck access, has a 32” flat screen TV and adjacent bath with walk-in shower and washer/dryer. Downstairs, both bedrooms feature queen beds, 32” flatscreen TVs, and share a bath with tub/shower. The management company communicated clearly, early, and often so the packing and check-in process was made easy. The cabin itself was gorgeous (we loved the bear accents), beds were very comfortable, etc. Check-out was also easy and minimal work required from us. The outdoor area is very serene and cozy. Quiet location close enough to town, fenced yard for the dogs, a stream onsite which dogs & kids loved. The adults appreciated the multiple fireplaces and the hot tub. We hiked the Aska falls loop trail with kids & dogs - less than a mile from the house. This place is the perfect cabin for warm weather - great outdoor living space. One heads up - the kitchen is very well appointed but very small. Limited counter space & no pantry presented a bit of a challenge cooking for 8 but we made it work. The staff at EBR is SUPER! Upon arrival we did find that one of the TVs had some damage and we called to report it and the management was very responsive and called me right back. Most of our time was spent on the great shaded porches and the fire pit/stream are. The owner even had firewood for the fire pit. The kids and adults really had fun in the stream. Was able to catch a couple of crawdads for the young ones. We did not bring a pet but the entire property was fenced to keep a dog in. ##### Glenn W. Our dogs had free run of the property (totally fenced in). The boys 6&10 loved the creek. The dogs did also. We played pool, watched the game on the tv in the screened porch. The only reason why I gave it four stars instead of five is because the fireplaces inside the house did not work. We are from South Florida and when the weather dropped to 21° we had a hard time trying to stay warm. It is a two level cabin therefore the bottom level stayed very cold without the use of the fire. The kitchen was a little small for our group but we made it work. We really enjoyed the large deck and ate all of our meals out there. Big table held our group. We spent alot of time in the creek with our Grandkids. They loved it! Our dogs loved the big yard to run around. Screened porch was nice but needs a good cleaning. I swepted it out and it was fine. The dogs enjoyed the stream too much, but there is a gate to close them off from the bottom of the yard which was nice. The top of the yard also had a small dog run which was good. The pool table was nice and the views were good. Its location is further from town then we usually stay, but its closer to trail heads which was nice. We very much enjoyed the quiet, private setting. Cabin was large and clean. Location was about 7 miles from town, close to hiking trails, away from others, and surrounded by woods. Hot tub was wonderful addition and used often. Absolutely no bugs inside cabin. Management was responsive when we couldn't get grill to light. For the size of the cabin and people it usually accommodates (5 - 8), more cooking equipment would have been nice. For example, there was only one skillet, which made it difficult to cook for everyone at the same time--a large electric skillet for pancakes would have been ideal to have had. Really, the only minor issue was that master shower didn't drain very well. We would definitely book again. ##### Robert S.
