Take in gorgeous sunrises from the wrap-around decks with an outdoor fireplace, furnished with deep seating conversation group, glider, Adirondack chairs, rockers and a picnic table. Gates on the deck protect pets and children. Indoors the cabin is beautifully furnished with antiques and special collectors' pieces. With an open floor plan guests can interact and enjoy each other while cooking, watching TV or playing games. Eagles Rest has custom millwork, knotty wood stairs and is fully loaded with first-class fixtures, furniture and electronics. Big screen LED TV's, Directv, DVR, Wi-Fi High Speed Internet. Main Floor The ramp from the paved driveway leads to the deck and main floor. This level has a well-equipped kitchen with granite countertops and all the small electric appliances you need for meal and drink preparation, a breakfast bar with seating for 2, dining room with seating for 8\. The great room has a 55” flat screen TV, Blu-ray DVD player, stone fireplace with gas logs and windows two floors high! There is a bedroom with king size bed and adjoining huge bathroom with single threshold shower with grab bars and laundry facilities. There is a large TV in this King bedroom. Upper Floor The upper level has the main suite with a king size bed, huge bathroom with slate shower and a jetted tub. There is a 46" Led TV and a Blu-ray DVD player in this king suite. The loft is furnished with a double bed, a trundle bed that converts to a king size bed and an overstuffed chair with ottoman. The loft is open above the great room and is a great getaway for curling up and reading a book and watching the sunrise. Lower Level The lower level has a brand-new pool table, Shuffleboard Table, Game table with poker chips, a seating area focused on a flat screen TV, Blu-ray DVD player, and stone fireplace with gas logs and plenty of room for kids to play. The third bedroom is on this level with King size bed and a separate full bath. There is a large TV in this King bedroom. A trundle/day bed that makes into a king size bed is on this level in the game room. There is a private six-person hot tub located on the patio outside the lower level. Eagles Rest has a boulder and dry stacked stone fire-pit. Small dogs (limit 2) are allowed with prior approval of owner. Dogs must be on a leash when outside the cabin. Dogs must be kept off furniture, beds and quilts, blankets and linens. Pet kennel 42x27x29 provided. This property is across the street from our other smaller cabin, Morning Glory (VRBO.com/965518) with 269 5-star reviews. It was longest time we've ever spent away from our home and felt comfortable enough that we weren't itching to get home. It was clean, well stocked and comfortable. Cathy was quick to respond to any questions or issues. For example, had checked the hot tub when we arrived and all was well. When we went to get in the hot tub a couple days later, it was empty. Cathy had a repairman out the next day to replace the pump. Couldn't ask for any quicker service than that. The kitchen was well stocked. We brought a bunch of things with us and found that almost all of them were already there, things like a manual can opener, wine opener. There are plenty of glasses, dishes, wine glasses, utensils, etc. We had brought a couple favorite non stick skillets for eggs in the morning and did use those. And the view was spectacular. A slight downside is the one lane road but it is only 1/4 mile and there aren't many homes in the area so we only encountered oncoming cars less than a dozen times in a month. And the paved driveway is a godsend.Liked it enough to have booked already for next year. ##### Susan T. Séjour de 3 nuits en juin 2025 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Chip T. 3 juin 2025 Points forts : Propreté #### Exceptional Experience at Eagles Rest This was our fourth trip to Blue Ridge and our first time at Eagles Rest. If anything, the VRBO listing is underselling how truly awesome this cabin, and the cabin's location is. The photos do not do it justice!This may seem silly, but one of the features that really blew us away was how well equipped the kitchen was. You could cook up whatever dishes you want here and there would be the right dishes and utensils to do so. The view was amazing, lots of cool critters (turkeys, deer, song birds), and beautiful tree canopy. Another feature that was awesome - especially if you don't have a 4x4, is paved roads and paved driveway. This is really helpful when it is rainy.This cabin is everything and more, and the owner is super communicative and responsive. Love the fact that had board games for the kids and also games for the family.The place is big and has everything you need.the location is excellent and has plenty of space inn and outside.Love it!
