![The church dates from the 12th century, but was largely demolished in 1863 and rebuilt in 1864. It originally consisted of the nave and chancel, and a south aisle was added followed by a small private Chapel on the north side. The north transept is 15th C. and the roof of the north transept and nave are also 15th century. There is also a fine choir screen from the same period. The north transept was built around 1400, and originally had stained-glass windows with ancient coats of arms including those of the donors the Bataille family. This area was later used by Lords of Battles Manor as their private Chapel. The Chapel contains a Memorial to Sir William Waad of Battles Hall, who was a notable diplomat and officer of state. He was Lieutenant of the Tower of London for eight years where some of his prisoners included Guy Fawkes and Sir Walter Raleigh. The chancel was rebuilt in 1746 by Henry Woodyer. The tower was demolished in 1863 as it was unsafe. « At first the property looked nice. But double bedroom smelt as you walked in the door. Getting into bed the smell of urine in bed wasn't very nice. The oven smoked quite bad when in use. The microwave inside was quite rusty so never used it. Carpets in lounge were very stained in places. Bathrooms were good. But no bathmats. There was plenty of hot water. I would stay again if it was a lot cleaner. And oven and microwave were replaced. For the money paid. I was very disappointment. I feel the...

« I've been to a place this who offer a similar service but their sauna wasn't as hot and the hot tub wasn't even a real hot tub instead it was a paddling pool that never really got hot enough, but this hot tub at this place was better and more bubbles, also has a cold water type plunge and they give you free snacks and drinks! i would highly recommend to visit! »
