"I loved this little cabin! The western town theme was perfect. The shared kitchen was nice. We fixed out coffee and breakfasts daily in the shared kitchen and enjoyed the company of other guests headed to Big Bend NP or Terlingua. Would definitely stay again."

"I can’t understand how this place has a good review. I paid hotel prices to stay at a badly maintained motel. Anywhere else you would only pay $50 a night and this place was over $150 a night. There was bugs in the room, the toilet leaked all over the floor in the middle of the night and ruined my son’s boots, and the water from the faucet smelled like actual feces. It’s also over an hour from Big Bend. Yes there’s a pool, but it’s also covered with dead bugs. Run."

"Beautiful and remote. Off grid, remote has its own flavor. I simply was unprepared for the harshness of the environment. The cabin is beautiful, built by the host, very unique and eclectic. Entirely surrounded by mountains a complete 360! It's in the dessert folks, it's hot and it's dirty! My 3rd trip to BB but I'm much older. Jim is great, he's a local with knowledge, colorful stories, very conversational. The night sky is undescribable. And be prepared these ranch roads are rough!Go in prepared, as Jim describes, and you will love it here! The cabin is totally rain water and solar, if you know you know, good mini fridge and a mini split downstairs that freeze you out ..but don't leave that room. The dessert reclaims all your cool instantly. I mainly slept in the car out front and Jim didn't mind one bit!"

"Rooms need updating and maintenance, walkways are an accident waiting to happen. Restaurant couldn't seem to get our steak rare. They did replace the first steak that was well done with a steak that was medium, which we accepted as the rest of our party had already finished their meal. However they plated the second steak over our original mashed potatoes so they were cold. To make up for it, the dessert was gratis. Don't ask for more bread as they only prepare one loaf per table. Prices are high I guess that's to be expected. The Golf course is very nice, well maintained and priced like other top tier courses."
