As you walk along Rodeo Drive or explore its stately mansions, it is easy to see why celebrities continue to flock to this glamorous city in southern California.

For the definitive Hollywood experience, visit Beverly Hills. This Californian city, known as the playground of the rich and famous, is as celebrated for its residents as it is for its things to see and do.

Before it was incorporated in 1914, Beverly Hills was a Spanish ranch and lima bean farm. By the time Hollywood’s Golden Age kicked off in the late 1920s, it had become a hub for celebrities. Commonly called “90210” after its most celebrated zip code, it continues to shine with star power today.

Many people make a first stop at Rodeo Drive. This area, including the adjoining pedestrian street, Two Rodeo, is synonymous with high-end shopping. Even if you just want to window shop, it is an exciting experience to browse the luxurious fashion, jewellery and other wares on display.

Visit the hilly region north of Sunset Boulevard to see spectacular mansions, although the closest you will get to most of them is a glimpse through the front gates. Greystone Mansion and Park, however, gives visitors the opportunity to tour one of these estates. You will probably recognize parts of the house and garden, which have been the set for dozens of films and television shows.

Beverly Hills is home to some of the world’s most decadent restaurants. Splurge at Mr. Chow or Spago or eat at one of the many reasonably priced dining areas.

If you want to truly vacation in the lap of luxury, stay in one of the city’s fabled hotels. Establishments like the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Beverly Wilshire have long been a home away from home for celebrities.

One of the best ways to explore Beverly Hills is to just meander its streets. Southern California is sunny and warm throughout the year, so stroll around downtown or take a tour of its most famous houses. Stay alert and you may see a famous face or two!

Downtown Beverly Hills is very walkable, but if you want to explore the hills, consider bringing a car or joining a tour. Traffic permitting, drive to Los Angeles from Beverly Hills in less than 45 minutes.

"The property was nice, clean and in a very convenient location. The employees were really nice and helpful. In fact, when we asked to leave earlier than we originally booked at a non cancellable deal, the hotel manager approved it with no problem. I will go back there any time I’m in LA."
