![We were at the end of our Panama/Costa Rica trip and had actually just decided to cut it short because I was starting to feel sick. But we had this last hike to try out and I was just hoping both that I would feel well enough and also that our car would be able to make it back on the very steep gravel road back from the parking spot (after almost getting stuck around Monteverde earlier on the trip). As we’ve been getting used to we were first to arrive so we had this awesome place completely to ourselves for a little while in the morning before other tourists started to drop in. It really felt like a fairytale. "Everything worked out in the end, but the beginning was rough to confirm the details of my stay, which was stressful. The location was great and was safe. "We were super pleased with all the amenities and the location is very close to the beach and restaurants. We were visited by a pair of scarlet macaws every day! We would sit and stare out the windows and just watch them for hours, absolutely the highlight of our entire trip. Over 2 1/2 weeks we stayed at 6 different locations and this was by far our favorite. If we ever come back to Costa Rica this place will absolutely be booked."

"La Mariposa was a highlight of our trip. The property is beautiful, and the view is absolutely incredible. Waking up to floor to ceiling windows and an ocean and national park view never got old. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the infinity pool overlooking the ocean was a favorite spot. We even saw monkeys on the property. Breakfast each morning was wonderful, and the staff were so lovely and accommodating throughout our stay. The property’s location is ideal, within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The beach is about a 25 minute downhill walk and there’s also a property shuttle to the beach if you don’t feel like walking. We are absolute looking forward to staying here again. "
