The Modern Bar Harbor Ranch

The Bar Harbor Ranch: nestled in an evergreen forest adjacent to a main road, this spacious modern house is conveniently located right on the head of the island and less than 10 min. from Acadia National Park's Hulls Cove Visitor Center. The house was set up for large group social activities, with an open concept kitchen, 8 person bar/dining area and a cozy relaxation area by the indoor fireplace. With the ideal weather Acadia experiences, the property is perfect for outdoor family activities on the deck, front lawn or sitting around the fire pit.
Features include - Kitchen: With a propane oven and 4 burner stove top, large air fryer, an additional electric 4 burner stove top, coffee pot & Keurig, dish washer, full fridge, and more than all the essential cookware this kitchen allows guests to save money by eating in. Dining Area: With 7 bar seats and 8 kitchen table seats, sitting down to enjoy a home cooked meal has never been easier. Turn on the indoor propane fire place, connect to the bluetooth speaker system and let the good times roll! SMART TV'S IN EVERY ROOM! We know after a long day of hiking, sometimes the perfect evening consists of taking a hot shower, laying down and watching a movie with your loved ones. We have 4 smart tv's in the house including a large sectional "TV Room" so the whole family can gather together.
Lastly, spending time outside is a must in Acadia which is why we make sure outdoor activities are possible with an outdoor woodburning sauna, propane bbq grill, porch with table/umbrella/chairs and a fire pit for relaxing evenings with S'mores! We look forward to sharing our home with you, we love being here and we hope you do too!

Very comfortable, only 15 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor, just a few minutes from Acadia. It was perfect for our group of 7. Kitchen well stocked, we enjoyed the fire pit.

Great stay

We had a great time at the property. It close to the park and the town. Only downside is that it’s off of busy road. We enjoyed the home theater and sauna!

This property has it's pros and cons but I agree with the other reviewer who left a 6/10 rating that this property is good, but not great. Location wise, it's only a short drive from Bar Harbor and the entrance to Acadia so it's convenient without being in the busy downtown area and is a great starting point for your daily activities. On the negative side though, I was not impressed with the cleanliness, especially the kitchen. Cabinet and drawer faces were sticky and we had to wash almost every pot and pan before we used them because of food residue and grime. For the steep cleaning fee this property charges I would have expected it to be much cleaner when we arrived. The kitchen floor was also awkward to walk on because most of the tiles were loose in the subfloor with grout missing and wobbled when walked on. Potential guests should be aware that the layout of the house is a bit strange. Two of the bedrooms are on the lower level of this split level home, which in itself is no big deal, but the lower level is open to an unfinished laundry area and the rest of the basement. A highlight of the stay was the movie theater. The owner did a nice job on this space but it took us a few minutes to find it since you have to go through a utility room in the unfinished area of the basement to get there. Overall, this property wasn't for me and I would not book again but it could be great with more attention to cleaning and a bit of maintenance work.

My family and friends had a lot of fun staying here. Wish we actually had more time to use the sauna and the movie theater. The kitchen also had any spices you'd think of! The one personal downside was the beds are 3-4 on the firmness scale but other than that, no complaints!

Bar harbor house

Enjoyed our stay, used the fire pit and back deck a good bit. A lil drive to everything which we knew before arriving. There was a little road noise during the day but zero issue at night. Had fun with the chickens that came to visit :)

Perfect Bar Harbor Getaway

The house is quite roomy and conveniently located 20 minutes from downtown. Only 5 minutes to the airport! It has everything you need and the patio seating is nicely shaded throughout the entire day! Would definitely stay again when in the area.

Plenty of room for an Acadia stay

Everything was great about this house. As described and big comfortable rooms. For me, it is always about the small things. Such as plenty of towels and toiletries. These were much appreciated. Even the kitchen had all the basic ingredients like spices, oils, etc. I gave the location 4 stars due to the loud busy street right next to the property. Only an issue when hanging out on the deck, you hear everything driving by.

The photos for this house work really hard to make it look inviting, but the experience of staying here doesn’t quite measure up. For starters there’s no central air and the few window units they have can’t reach any common areas, so it was extremely hot in the afternoons and evenings. Two of the bedrooms are in the basement (which is a bit dark and spooky) and are also barely temperature controlled. The master bathroom has no fan and a toilet which looks intriguing with a bidet, but the seat itself doesn’t reach the edge of the porcelain so it's kind of gross to sit on. There's no couch or TV in the main living space (only the secondary space near the bedroom). The yard and fire pit are fine, but the mosquitos are so bad we couldn't be out there for more than a few minutes. (That's not really the homeowner's fault, but you should know what you're getting.) Our checkout time was at 10 am and there was already a car pulled up to the house at 9:55 watching us leave. This place was cheaper than most with a good location (points for that), but it all adds up to a house that is clearly someone's second or third home and very much feels like it. If the homeowner wants to make this place appealing in the long run, they should invest the time and funds to make each part of the house enjoyable to experience and not just good for a pic.

Great Bar Harbor Location!

This house was comfortable and spacious. The location right between Southwest Harbor and Bar Harbor was great!!! So close to Travelin Lobster which was delicious and a great bargain!

Wonderful family gettaway

We had a wonderful time! More room than anticipated, providing an opportunity for 2 adults to work remotely as they couldn't take off the time. One of the most well stocked kitchens in terms of condiments and spices, another great surprise! Very nice host. Was excited about their being a puzzle! Lots of extras. Would definitely rent again!

Acadia getaway

This house was perfect for our group of 8 (4 adults/4 kids). We were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots/pans, utensil, Tupperware, etc. The location was great for exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor! We would love to stay here again!

This is a roomy, remodeled home about 15 minutes from Bar Harbor/Acadia. Well-equipped and clean. Located less than a mile from The Traveling Lobster (eat here). We ran out of time but would like to come back again.

Head of the Island

Property was great and good for couples or families. Everthying you need is included for a lobster bake at home or just sitting on the deck and relaxing. Although not located in the town of Bar Harbor- it is just minutes to everything Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park has to offer! Fresh Lobster from local fisherman is just a 1 minute drive over the Trenton bridge. I stayed at this property since it was close to family who live in Town Hill and don't have enough space for guests, so it worked out well! I will definately be back for more stays!

Glad we stayed here!

The house was lovely and centrally located to all our hiking and restaurant destinations. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. We also enjoyed the deck at the end of each day. The layout of the house is wonderful and this will suit families.
