Classic Gingerbread Home near the Grand Palace
This was my second visit to this charming century old guesthouse. The classic architecture and wood paneling is exquisite. The hosts are very kind and friendly. The location is perfect for visiting the historic district of Phra Nakhon.

Relaxing stay but overpriced
This is a nice hotel and we had a relaxing stay for the most part, but I had higher expectations. The pros: Good location, walking distance from several sights, beautifully designed and well-maintained premises, very cozy and comfortable rooms. And the staff was friendly (whenever we got a hold of them). The cons: It was really hard to get a hold of the front desk staff, they were always "on break". The approach to this hotel is wretchedly filthy (Thailand is quite clean otherwise). I understand this is not the hotel's fault, but we did have to walk through the urine stench everyday. The rooms were very loud - some might consider this as charming but we did have a hard time sleeping. And lastly, our room had a jacuzzi - but it had cold water. It was fine for an afternoon dip - but not what I expect from a jacuzzi. So this is a nice place, but for ~$200/night I expected more out of this hotel.

Lovely Bed and Breakfast style
My sister and I were in Bangkok for only 2 nights and wanted to be within walking distance to the Grand Palace and other sights. Baan Noppawong is a lovely bed and breakfast which feels more like a home. Our room was charming and felt like a traditional Thai home. The hotel is tucked behind a busy road so it is super quiet and safe. In walking distance of 5-7 of Khao San Road and maybe 15 minutes form the Grand palace and Wat Pho. .Our hostess Sin, was very helpful in getting us familiar with the area. There are lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. I am so pleased that I selected to stay here. It was so lovely, welcoming and peaceful. I wish I had written this review sooner and apologize for taking so long to write it!

Beautiful thai house. We arrived at 3am and were greeted by a lovely guy who showed us to our room. The staff were all lovely and really helpful in booking activites and recommending restaurants. The breakfast each morning was delish with yummy thai meals. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic service, quiet but close to the action.
Baan Noppawang has a great location in the heart of Bangkok’s Old City area. Despite being so close to a busy area, it is tucked away in a quiet and peaceful nook, with beautiful gardens. With only 7 rooms, it is very intimate, but our room felt very private. The home cooked breakfast didn’t have a lot of options, but felt just right and each day they showed that they had noticed our favorites and improved upon them. They gave us an excellent recommendation for the first night, Krua Apsorn, just a short walk away, that was so good we returned again. The service at Baan Noopawong was the most outstanding part, they were so friendly and helpful, it really made our stay.

What a great hotel. A Very helpful friend staff that made you feel at home. They have security posted at the front gate at night. The room was beautiful and made you feel at home. One block from the main road to catch a cab, but yet so quite and peaceful. Also 2 blocks from Kahn San Road. Very lively at night.

Quaint hotel in a restored Thai house complex with wonderful staff. My stay was a quiet and calm refuge within the city. Located close enough to the historic sites and canal boats to be convenient but just enough out of the action to be a calm oasis to return to each evening. I will definitely stay here again on a return trip.

Quiet space on the heart of Bangkok
This small hotel is in the middle of the Bangkok hot spots. Walking distance from the Palace, Wat Po and the Golden Mountain as well as Kao San Road. Helpful staff. Remember to make sure they give directions to your taxi driver, because they are a little hard to find.

Very close to Kao San road but quiet -area.
I will stay here again next time i return to Bangkok! The Place is very clean and beautiful! The bed is very comfortable and clean, bathroom is very chic and clean. The staff are helpful and friendly! I highly recommend this place as it is only walking distance to Kao San road and very safe and quiet.

the place was really nice and quiet and comfy. one of the hotel staff girls wasn't too welcoming and helpful while there but the night shift girl was really nice and helpful. i really liked the room, very clean.

Stayed 2 nights. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was good. Room was beautiful, and the hotel is a truly special place to stay. Not a regular hotel - but a room in traditional house. Very beautiful and I felt honoured to have stayed. Located close to many tourist areas. Hotel also booked our taxis so I didn't get scammed with dodgy taxis.

A great little house like hotel.
A traditional Thai house that has been turned into a hotel. When you stay here, you feel like you are staying in a house. It's also got a great location, right in the middle of the sites downtown. Very friendly staff too.

oasis of peace and calm
A beautiful place, like staying in someones home! Although the location concerned me initially(down small alleyway), it was fine and a great location for the major sights in Bangkok. However, you had to venture further afield for decent bars/ restaurants, although there was one good Thai restaurant that was very near.Very comfortable bed and quiet, peaceful surroundings. Breakfast in the garden was lovely start to the day! The only negative was the size of the room. The was no wardrobe, just a hat stand, so had to live out of a suitcase!

Serene location in the middle of a tourist centre
Excellent. Beds were comfy. Presentation delightfull with every effort made to recreate the old Thai style of furnishing. Very atmospheric. Spotlessly clean. Service was splendid, friendly and personal. Breakfast outdoors was wonderful and relaxing. Great to be able to walk to all the tourist spots. Quiet at night without street noise. This is a very small hotel and would probably suit those people who dislike high-rise commercialism.The atmosphere is casual and quiet.

Excellent for people looking for something different. They treat you like a good friend and serve you like a king. The location is walking distance to many of the main historic attractions in Bangkok so it is very convenient but also it is really quiet, being awoken only by birds. The breakfast is outdoors in a lovely private garden between 8 and 10 (provided you wake up on time) and it is delicious , help your self , plus they cook eggs and ham if you would like something hot, with plenty of fresh fruit. Very leasurely and relaxing. The rooms have excellent airconditioners and the bathrooms are wonderful. It is like staying in a private home with polished jara floors and genuine antique Thai furniture. When you arrive you have to remove your shoes, but once you see the floor, who want to wear shoes? We stayed on the way to Europe and on the way home again, so we used two different rooms. Both were beautiful, however the spa room was definately the best. There is a pond with huge fish outside and a little vestibule where you can relax while waiting for your taxi. Parallel to the hotel street is the main road, where there is a small 7 day a week shop- very clean and good for tourists to buy emergency items. And near by are several good indoor restaurants.

A quiet retreat
Like others who have reviewed, I discovered that my taxi driver was lost trying to find the hotel. Easiest thing would have been directions that said, "near the democracy monument" -- so that's something that both Hotels.com and the hotel should consider. It was certainly a quiet room and a relaxing place, although my length of stay wasn't enough to really appreciate those factors. But it is near some interesting sights, iaway from the flash and the noise of Silom or Sukhumvit. One misleading aspect of the amenities is that the spa tub belongs to one private room, so if you are planning on relaxing in a jacuzzi, you need to book the jacuzzi suite. This is not something you can use otherwise -- and that ought to be changed on the hotel's description page.

Island of peace in hectic Bangkok
Absolutely perfect if you're seeking some peace and quiet to return to after a day in the bustling city. Transports you to a different time. Location is perfect if you want to visit the great food places on Maha Chai Rd, and also the palace on foot. Only downside is that it's not near any public transport, so one has to rely on taxis and tuk-tuks.

I want to start off by saying how awesome the hotel staff is here. They do everything for you, including running out into the rain to catch you a taxi. They bend over backwards to help you out. Having said that, they lack in helping you book excursions or giving you advice on what to see. Their English is alright but not good enough to answer questions. The room itself was very clean and the bathrooms were very nice. The room however is very small (we had a standard double) and there is no fridge. This means all your water is warm, which in bangkok is not ideal. The surrounding area is fairly trashy but it is within a 10 minute walk to the main attractions, including the grand palace and wat po. There weren't any markets close by for shopping. Overall I would say the staff were very accommodating but their limited amount of English made solving any issues (like us thinking we had booked breakfast and a room and they thought we had only booked a room) nearly impossible. If you can get this place for a cheap price then it may be worth it. However, for the price we paid we could have found a larger hotel with a better location.

Would definitely recommend!!
Great location. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to a nicely decorated air conditioned room. The wooden floors meant that we were asked to walk quietly, which seemed a little odd for a hotel. It is a really nice traditional Thai house with a mix of modern decor with antique furniture. Perfect location just round the corner from Khao San Road. We have booked to go again at the end of our trip.

Lovely Thai baan house
Very beautiful Thai house with colonial style antique furniture. Sitting in the yard enjoying the wonderful breakfast served by the hotel is very relaxed. Close to all the historial spots and Khao San Road. The address is a bit difficult for taxi driver to find though. Actually just tell the driver to go to "Victory Monument traffic circle" and look for "Mercedes Benz" store on the side to get off. The hotel is in the lane about 2 mins walk short cut from the main road/ Benz shop.

Beautiful little cottage
Ban Noppawong is very well maintained cute cottage. It feels like home. The manager was very fluent in english and extremely helpful in addressing all our queries to travel around. The only problem that we faced was that it wasn't very well known and it was difficult for the taxi drivers to find it. It's a little difficult to locate so we faced a problem every single day trying to locate it.

The rooms are a little cramped (not good if you have a lot of luggage) but very tastefully done up. This boutique hotel is really an oasis of tranquility from the general buzzing activity of Bangkok. The staff are very helpful and the organic toiletries are quite a unique touch too. Only quibble is food variety in the area is a bit limited and sparse, so you'll have to head out further for that.

위치와 서비스 매우만족합니다. 카오산로드 및 기타 올드타운 관광지 굉장히 가깝습니다. 하지만 시청 근처임에도 불구, 주변 큰길에 누워서 주무시는 분 많았습니다. 처음에는 무서웠어요. 고양이 정말 많이 귀엽습니다. 까마귀 새벽 5시부터 울어요. 일찍자야해요. 모기, 까마귀 괴로웠어요. 그 외의 교통, 음식점 모두 정말 많이 만족합니다. 다음에는 모기 없었으면 좋겠어요. 모기 다 죽여주세요 또 올게요

Dans une petite ruelle, calme. Dans une maison traditionnelle, beaux parquets, on peut marcher vers les temples Wat Pho, etc. Près d’un marché de nuit. Surtout, Sen, fait tout ce qu’elle prit pour vous aider à organiser tout ! Dîner, shopping, spectacles. L’endroit est un peu vieillot mais beaucoup de charme. Très propre.

너무 멋있는 숙소에요:)
굉장히 멋있는 숙소였어요 침대 바로앞에 미니개인 수영장도 붙어있어서 도착하자마자 물놀이했네요 ㅎ 아! 화장실에 샤워부스 쪽이 완전 막혀있지않아요.. 한쪽벽 일부분이 철조망? 비슷한거로 되어있습니다 자연친화적이에요 ㅎ 미니도마뱀도 살짝 들어왔다 나가기도 해요 ㅋㅋ 출입문이나 창문들은 옛스러워서 너무 좋았습니다 ㅎ 다만 목조건물이다보니 소리가 큽니다 ㅎ 저희는 1층에 묵었는데 윗방에서 살짝 움직여도 삐그덕 소리가 나요 ㅋㅋ 어차피 밤늦게까지 안자는 타입이라 괜찮았지만 다른분들은 참고하세욤 ㅎ 조식도 너무 만족할만큼 맛있었고 가장 좋았던점은 카오산로드가 숙소 바로앞 큰길건너편에 있다는점? ㅎ 가까워서 놀기 너무 좋았어요 !

古民家風の小さいホテル。部屋は普通の家の一室といった感じなので、二階の部屋の足音が聞こえた。シャワースペースがかなり狭かった。スタッフの方の対応はとても良かった。朝食は外の中庭で食べることができ、リゾート感があった。
