House main area was very nice and beautifully furnished. Our Room was at the 3rd floor attic area and we were not offered any other option even though there was availability with on suite accommodations on the 2nd floor. Room was nice although the only lite was a skylight It was a bit cold for my wife Bathroom was outside our room & was lacking place to hang towels &clothes. Toilet had to be flushed 5-6 times. There was no soap or shampoo in the shower & when I asked for some, I was told that the company did not deliver any & after some search we were given a bottle of shampoo. We received breakfast in the dining room which was decent, although we weren't offered the plate of fruit that the other table (there was only two sets of guests) got.

A beautiful old house. Period features throughout. Lovely helpfuly staff. Clean room. Enjoyed our stay . Our bathroom is outwith the room which came as a surprise. Breakfast was sufficient.

Such a beautiful, peaceful place. Great for a quiet getaway! Very comfortable room with enormous bed. Excellent porridge for breakfast. It was a treat to stay here.

Ok stay - needs improved
Pros Comfortable bed. Nice big bedroom and bathroom with big tub. Cons Limited veggie/vegan breakfast choice. Tattie scones were on the list but not provided in the full breakfast. Squash served instead of fresh orange juice. We were no asked how our breakfast was or offered anything else. Probably because they appear to be understaffed with one girl having to do all the jobs! Bedroom had limited tea options and no biscuits. Limited toiletries. The most annoying thing was the broadband started off ok then went down intermittently from 8pm so we could not stream anything. Shower was a trickle for my husband in the morning as the system could not cope with multiple people having showers at the same time.

Got a free room upgrade. Room was nice and clean. Lovely bathroom fittings. Towels were folded on your bed to look like swans. Breakfast was lovely. As was the pot of tea. I'd have no hesitation going back. Was a fair price too

Easy walk into town.
We could choose breakfast in our room or in the dining room. The choices were plentiful. The crème brûlée porridge was excellent.

As we have a dog it was convenient to dine with the dog.The decor and the antique furniture and pictures added to the period atmosphere. The meals were very good and the staff helpful. The surrounding grass was neat but the small garden could do with weeding.

Our room needs some TLC
The staff, the building and the food were all excellent, probably the best steak I've ever eaten.However the room was not as good as it should have been. The lock on the door was faulty; the shower either didn't work or was difficult to control; at 8pm on our first night there was not enough hot water for a bath; one of the main light switches did not work

A beautiful period House in a tranquil setting. Large rooms that they have given a great deal of attention to detail. Friendly staff not intrusive at all. Wonderful hotel for a getaway.
