We loved our stay at Canalta. We could easily walk downtown, hike around the area, access shuttles, and shop. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved having air conditioning in our room as well. We would come back and recommend staying there.

We chose the property because they accepted dogs. However, the dog had an accident and there was no one to shampoo the rug (we cleaned up the mess) and their machine was not working. They charge a daily fee for the dog - they should have someone in charge of ensuring such things are looked after. When we reported the incident to the front desk, we were assured it would be looked after, but no action was taken.

The staff weee very friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel was very clean. Wish there was a safe in the room and a bathroom fan. The hot tubs and plunge pool were a nice addition.

We stayed in Banff for one night and I booked the Canalta Lodge based on photos, location and reviews. The hotel was very clean but noisy. Our 650CAD/night room was on the first floor with tables about 6 ft from our windows directly outside the room. It felt very invasive and people were outside talking, drinking and eating until almost midnight. The hotel was nice but given that setup it was WAY overpriced and I wouldn’t stay there again. The breakfast also looked very unappetizing so we ate elsewhere.

We are family but the room are separate floors and it’s not as we respect. Up floor with no view, no balcony, down floor is look at to backyard with sauna pool and people can see some through the room if we open the light, not really privacy, room is no balcony
