It was great, but I wish I had noticed they did not have air. We would not have booked this. They were having a heat wave plus the smoke from the surrounding area. I also wish I had noticed it wasn’t close to the town of Banff-it would had been nice to be walking distance to the shops and restaurants. If you don’t mind not being close and no ac it was great.

Although I realize that the temp (in the high 80's) is not typical, it was very difficult for us to get to sleep at night. More fans in the rooms would be great.

For a $600 charge per night there was a lot that could be done to improve the comfort of their guests! No air conditioning, dark, very small windows and only 2 tiny windows that open to get air. No screens on the doors to create a draw through effect to get cool air! We had to leave the front door and the back door open u til midnight to try and cool the room down. Bugs then filled the room so we finally closed the doors! It was well over 80 in the room all night! No ventilation in the bathroom! No blinds in the upper windows so if you thought you were going to sleep in…. No such luck and besides that, with leaving the windows open all night you get woken up at 5am with the birds! Green walls! The very worst color for making you look sick and sallow! Color psychology 101! ( I am an Interior Designer) when I inquired about the air conditioning I was told that they cannot have air in a national park because of carbon emisions! Have they not heard of heat pumps!! On top of all that a wood burning stove in the room has left that woodsy smell on everything I own. It’s off to cleaners for me! Bar none the worst stay I have ever had in the last 20 years.

We had a terrific one-night stay at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. The one bedroom unit was spacious for 4 and the staff extremely friendly. The only downside is that the location isn't really walkable to downtown Banff; however, city transit is available.
