We had the best week staying here! Chuck was super quick to respond back to questions and a great host! The house is super close to the beach so super easy walk and we loved having the outdoor space to hang out! We had 16 of us and were comfortable on days we just hung in the house too!

We had such a great stay here for spring break in Avon! The house had so many fun games and things to do, which made it perfect for hanging out and relaxing together. The outdoor space was amazing and the hot tub was an awesome amenity to have, especially at night with the lights and TV.It’s also a super quick walk to the beach, which was really peaceful during the off-season. There are also some great coffee shops within walking distance, which was a nice bonus in the mornings.The kitchen was stocked with pretty much everything you could ever need, which made cooking at the house really easy. Just make sure to bring your own bath and beach towels!One thing to note if you’re visiting in the off-season is that a lot of the restaurants and ice cream shops nearby are closed for the season, but that also makes the area feel more relaxed and uncrowded. Overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely come back!

Loved the location of the house, and the house was wonderful! Only about a 5 minute walk to the beach, and the house already had beach chairs for our group to use. The kitchen was large enough for our entire party, and was a fun space to hang out in. The hosts of this home were wonderful, and we would definitely return!

Great time at OBX!!

Great house, very solid, hot tub is awesome! Very roomy and spacious with fabulous outdoor seating & entertainment. Walk to the beach is short. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Family vacation

We really enjoyed our stay! The house had everything we could ever want. And plenty of room! Our hosts were very responsive, and the property was clean and comfortable. We usually go every year, and I'm sure we will try to rebook here.

The Deck House was perfect for our large, extended family vacation. Plenty of room to spread out for both fun party time and quiet reading/down time. Property was clean, nicely decorated, and kitchen was fully stocked with all cooking needs, etc.Easy walk to the beach, DQ across the street, grocery near by. Chuck was very responsive from beginning to end and a pleasure to communicate with.Highly recommend for fun family gatherings.

Wonderful house for family!

We enjoyed our stay. The whole family had something to do. Lot and lots of games and plenty of room. We only wish we could have stayed longer. You won't regret booking this one!

Great House

The house was exactly as advertised, the beach is close, ORV access is close by as well. Dairy Queen is across the street, that was a favorite of my whole family. It is is great location and even though houses are close, it was quiet and peaceful. Definitely recommend for family vacations.

Adorable Beach House

We came down during off season and stayed just to hang out with family and play bored games and explore. It was the perfect house for that! Tons to do. Host was very responsive and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

AMAZING

The DECK was absolutely perfect. A very accurate listing plenty of space, cookware/dishware, with a great grilling area. With multiple places to eat meals it felt like we were at 5 different restaurants. Location was nice - it was a short walk to the beach (2min) and a short drive to the fish market(3min)/grocery store(5min). Chuck (property manager) was very prompt to responding to emails for any of the questions we had throughout the trip.

Beautiful weekend in October

The house is well equipped and very clean. The location is great and the outdoor space is perfect for relaxing and cooking out. Loved the room downstairs which worked out great for our 13 year old dog. Love the spiral staircase for shortcut to the upstairs.

We had 9 guys for a fishing. Ages ranged from 20 to 81. The place was clean and well stocked with kitchen equipment. Everyone got a bed and there was room for privacy as well as sitting together for meals, card games or just eating TVThe owner was proactive on communication and responded quickly to questions

Big house and closer to beach

This house is really big and can accommodate a group of 15-20 people. The house is within walking distance of the beach and there is Dairy Queen right opposite the house. The house has a nice hot tub and a TV mounted right in front of it. Nice place to relax in the evening.

Awesome house!

Very close to the beach, accomodated my family, plus my 2 sisters and their family and my parents! We had a fantastic time! Many shops, and dining places withing walking distance!Bakery nearby was awesome, pub was great, and the kids loved the candy shop and ice cream! Even shorter distance if you take the bikes out! Hot tub was enjoyable, and the deck--- absolutely stunning. Read out there almost every night, played games, chatted, and was the place to be almost the whole trip. Fantastic house, friendly neighbors and overall made our vacation, it was the core of so many fun memories made!

October Surf Weekend

My brother and I traveled up to catch a swell with some old surfing buddies. Great house, plenty of room for friends to sleep. Location was perfect we were able to surf on the beach in front of the house all day, then warm up in the hot Tub with some NFL football on the TV! We biked down to the Froggy Dog for dinner. Easiest surf weekend in the OBX I have ever had. Also enjoyed some conversation with the friendly neighbors. We will be back!

Large family short stay

We came down for the weekend to send my nephews ashes off into the ocean. We were only in town from a Friday to Sunday but the weather was not forgiving for the weekend. Luckily this home provided plenty of room for the entire family that stayed including the ones that just hung out and allowed for things to do as well without having to leave. As far as cooking everything we needed was there. The owner was nice pleasant and fair to work with. If we get to go back we will try to stay here again.

Amazing Experience for a Large Group

I had an amazing experience at this location. I brought a large group (20) folks, and this large house was the perfect location in every way imaginable. The location was right next to the beach with a 1 minute walk to the boardwalk, perfect for our young group who were out and about all day. The house itself came with amazing amenities. Clean beds, clean bathrooms, a big living room and kitchen area made living in the house very easy. The deck area came with bicycles, a bar tv, a grill, and lots of space for seating which made it an amazing place to enjoy the breeze and relax with lots of people. I don’t know how this experience could have been improved. Highly recommend!

Location, location, location!

The Deck provided our family a wonderful base for our vacation. It was perfect for our twelve family members-four grandchildren sharing the bunk room and each child and their spouse having their own room. But by far the best part was the deck…covered with a ceiling fan, the hot tub, room for scooters, bubbles, and corn hole games. Trips to the end of the street to the walkway to the beach access, across the street to Dairy Queen which were frequent, down the street (just two miles) to Food Lion and Duck Donuts makes The Deck what realtors call “location, location, location”. Really, this place is a ten. Comfy, not the kind of place you have to worry about your child breaking something-it is child friendly inside and out. The hosts went over and above to make our vacation just what we needed. It feels like home!

Fantastic outdoor space, very well equipped!

My group had a fantastic experience at the deck! The hammock, bikes, hot tub, tiki bar, and outdoor TV made for an excellent stay, with tons to do the entire time. Location is great, there is a nice little coffee shop across the road (I really liked their matcha). Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the cleanliness and smell of the tiki bar fridge, it made all my ice smell funky after a day inside. The top shelf and door selves of the upstairs fridge were also somewhat broken and falling off constantly, and there was no bike pump available (host said this would be fixed for future stays) rendering the tandem bike inoperable. Overall though these are minor issues and did not seriously affect the stay, we were very happy with everything else and very happy with the price as well.

Nice home, be sure you bring yoyr own sheets and towels

Clean home, responsive owner BUT nowhere in the VRBO check in info did it mentioned NO LINENS. We weren't able to check in until late, due to cleaning crew. Apparently there was an email (that went to spam), but the check in info never mentioned that no linens were provided. We had 10 min to figure out what we needed and drive to where we could rent linens before they closed. That wasnt a good option. We were able to reach family, and buy some for the whole gang (about the same cost as a rental). This was a disappointing first for us... otherwise, a pleasant vacation. The kids enjoyed the beach and surf, as well as the hot tub.
