With two separate sleeping areas, generous decks, and a sun-filled interior, this cottage is a relaxed island base just a short walk from Onetangi Beach, cafés, vineyards, and local conveniences. The Space: Tui Cottage is all about simple, easy island living. Set among mature native trees, the home opens to wide decks arranged with outdoor lounge furniture, dining, and BBQ facilities. It’s a space made for long lunches, evening wine, and quiet mornings listening to the tūī and kererū. Inside, large windows pull in natural light and greenery. The open living and kitchen zone is comfortable and practical, providing everything needed for a casual beach-style stay. A handy outdoor fish-prep bench makes seafood dinners easy, and the garden creates private pockets for relaxing. Sleeping is split between the main cottage and a separate sleepout. The main cottage has been refreshed with a super king bed and its own deck, ideal for that first coffee of the day. A short walk through the garden leads to the stand-alone sleepout, complete with queen bed and its own shower and toilet. Just a minute's drive or a 10-minute walk places you on Onetangi’s long white-sand beach, with restaurants, a playground, a liquor store, takeaway food, and a petrol station all close by. Located on Waiheke Island, it’s close to top vineyards like Tantalus, Wild on Waiheke, and others, as well as Onetangi Beach. The cottage itself is secluded, and surrounded by the most lush trees and plant life, making it feel like your own private idyll. The facilities are superb, with laundry, cleaning facilities and everything you could possibly need for preparing meals (including a very generously sized gas barbecue!). There's also a outside wash down spot for those sandy feet after a day on the beach.The beds are comfortable, and the whole place is very well appointed and finished to a very high standard. On arrival, the cottage was cleaned to a very high standard and we had everything we needed right off the bat thanks to the pre-arrival information pack.A top tip for anyone hoping to use the Oven (and this isn't a criticism, just information for future holiday makers), you'll need to set the time on the oven before it does anything.Overall I'd have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to a couple or small family looking for a long weekend away.
