"On arrival we were given a very poor room but we we were then upgraded to a fabulous room with a balcony and our stay was very nice altho the room was very warm during the night .The breakfast was fabulous .we would stay again if we got a similar room .The location was excellent too"
"Wanslea Guest house was just what I needed, an oasis in England's beautiful Lake District. The owners spoil you with a wonderful breakfast (many food options), incredibly clean rooms, a well stocked tea cart, comfortable furniture. I would return here in a heartbeat! "
"Super friendly and quick check in. Prompt room change when the room key wasn't working. Excellent spa facilities - notably the thermal pool. Good range of breakfast options (the pancakes from the kitchen order options were fab). Good quality food for evening meal in the dining room. The location speaks for itself - fantastic.

"We loved this hotel. We had a wonderful stay. The staff are brilliant, the food is excellent and the view from our room was amazing. We’re already looking forward to going back x"
"Very pretty country location. The rooms including common rooms were all lovely. The tiny bathrooms were cramped and windowless and let the property down. Breakfasts were lovely, with lots of choice. We didn’t have dinner there, as prices were over the top, compared with what we were paying in other locations on our trip around the UK. "
"Location is great. Staff are very helpful, breakfast is excellent and lots of choice. We had a superior room at the Windermere Rooms. I expected a better view/facilities for the cost, rooms were very warm but could be easily fixed by turning the radiators down. Floor in the bedroom was slightly uneven which didn’t affect the stay but something I didn’t expect for the price of the room. I would definitely stay again but probably wouldn’t pay for a superior room."
"Absolutely amazing. Beautiful hotel and gardens close to Grasmere centre. Staff were excellent and food was delicious. Views from spa and restaurant were gorgeous. I would recommend without hesitation. "
"The staff , chef and management were excellent. The food was amazing, the bed super comfy, the setting quiet.
It is run by a Mauritian family and they were super charming and really understood the importance of good hospitality.

"Beautiful Hotel, staff couldn't have been friendlier, lovely room and the breakfast was perfect for setting us up for a gorgeous walk, restaurant was immaculate too, if I had to be ultra picky I would say I was a little disappointed the spa bath wasn't working but didn't even seem worth mentioning really, there are cheaper hotels in Ambleside, but as we all know, you get what you pay for in life, would absolutely recommend to anyone."
