"Brathay Lodge makes for a very comfortable and convenient stay in the Lake District. The room was modern and well-maintained and the staff friendly and considerate. There is a parking fee (unless booked direct) but you’d have to pay elsewhere anyway. If you have an electric car it’s a good idea to let them know in advance so you can use their reasonably-priced ProjectEV charger. The continental breakfast was fresh and varied and set us up for the day. Would definitely stay there again. "

"All members of staff extremely helpful, young lasse went out of her way to book me in early, then other females granted me an iron and ironing board and directed me to the in-house laundrette and drying area🙏 Absolutely einfach-klasse/ simply brilliant. All areas were spotlessly clean. This YHA is the best, in my humble opinion, and the ambiance is surreal. A credit to Cumbria, exemplifies the fact that Cumbria is putting the Great back into Britain ✌️☮️🐇💋🌈"

"The Swan at Grasmere was very welcoming, well kept and comfortable with friendly accommodating staff. The breakfast was lovely however we did feel the evening meal was their weakest aspect. The restaurant is lovely but one of our meals had over cooked chips and my husband’s meal was supposed to be pie of the week (beef) but was a surprise when he cut into it and got chicken! The staff quickly addressed this and brought a whole new meal. We did feel the cost of food and drinks was expensive...
