This three bedroom home has been completely renovated from the original construction. It is located on a brick paved street in a very nice vintage downtown neighborhood. It is close to many of the most popular downtown entertainment venues, the civic center and Amarillo's minor league baseball stadium, Hodge Town, is within walking distance. The neighbor is very well maintained and provides an excellent area to walk and view some of the earlier built homes in downtown Amarillo. Two cars can be parked in the driveway in front of the house and two can fit in the garage with an alley entrance. Limited free curbside parking is available on either side of the street in front of the home. It is so easy to get to from the highway and the neighborhood is very cute. It’s very clean and fun to stay in an old home. The only glitch was that the door code did not work. We called and texted with no response from manager. We finally used an emergency code for the lock box to get in. There was no communication from the owner checking to make sure we got into the property. We were lucky we got to the property early enough to stand around and keep trying to get in. If it had been a late arrival like we first expected and couldn’t get in contact with the owner standing around in the dark trying to get in it would have been a different story. We couldn’t access the property because the electric door lock didn’t work. After calling the host multiple times and VRBO we were forced to go stay in a hotel. This host claimed we were able to access the property which is 100% a lie and now we can’t get our money back. A real stand up host… he left myself, my pregnant wife and toddlers stranded on the driveway and won’t own their mistake to take care of us. Don’t stay here. ##### keith a. We also arrived at 11:30pm after a long day of travel and the lock box code wasn't working. I had to reach out to the manager to get an alternate code in order to access the house. The manager did offer to refund the entire amount if we chose to find a hotel, however, at 12am my kids were exhausted and the prospect of finding a hotel room at midnight was not appealing. We chose to stay even though the house had not been cleaned, luckily the previous guests had only utilized one bed and a few towels, the house was clean for the most part. I was concerned about having to contact the manager late at night, however, they responded within in a few minutes.As for the property, the house is in a nice historic district, very conveniently located just off I-40, a great spot for travelers headed out West for skiing vacation. The house is nice considering its age, easily accommodates 6 to 8 people.Thankfully, the property manager agreed to refund the 75 cleaning fee. Given the location of the house, I would consider staying there again, I expect the next visit to go much smoother. ##### Craig B. The beds are comfortable after a long day on the road.
