I suspect it may have been upscale 50 years ago, but there has clearly been no meaningful maintenance or renovation since then. The overall condition is very run-down. Towels had visible holes, the pillow felt like a solid brick, and the bathrobe was in such poor shape that it was off-putting just to look at. The room had no functional temperature control, forcing us to open the windows for any airflow—which unfortunately let in a lot of cigarette smoke from outside, making the space stuffy and unpleasant. Other issues included: A very old, heavily stained couch in the room full of holes. Stained breakfast tablecloths. Outdated physical keys (not electronic key cards) for both the room and the safe—something that feels like a basic necessity in modern hospitality, not a luxury perk. We booked for two nights but checked out after just one. The uncomfortable bedding (especially the rock-hard pillow), unbearable heat, and constant smoke made sleep impossible. Unfortunately, the hotel refused to refund the second night. Overall, this was a disappointing and frankly sad experience for what was presented as a luxury stay."
