Located on the Mayan Riviera at Akumal near Tulum, just a few minutes from the beach. You can enjoy the Tao center which includes the gym, infinity and lap pools, daily Yoga, Zumba, fitness class and community barbecue area! One can also make use of the golf club, tennis courts and beach club! THE SPACE Managed by Olahola Vacation Rentals, this gorgeous property is one of the best options in the area, with a comfy king-size bed in the master bedroom and two individual beds in the guest bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, extra inflatable mattresses, a fully-equipped kitchen with bar counter, spacious living room, and a spectacular view of the infinity pool from the terrace and living area. A/C, ceiling fans, washer-dryer, dishwasher, wifi connection, and a smart-tv with Netflix are part of the apartment equipment. THE NEIGHBORHOOD This home is located in Quintana Roo, Quintana Roo, Mexico. The Tao community is unique in so many ways. Surrounded by the lush Mayan jungle, with wild-life around, and starry skies every night, it's the perfect secluded place to relax and enjoy the Riviera Maya. Located inside Bahia Principe golf and resort complex, with 4 hotels and 27-hole championship golf course, there is no other place like this one nearer Tulum beaches. GETTING AROUND We strongly recommend to rent a car, specially if you are planning to explore the region. The Bahia Principe Complex where the condo is located is huge (717-acre); beach clubs and resort pools in the complex are not walking distance from the apartment. A trolley service is available within the complex to visit beach clubs and pools. Closest stop is at the Wellness Center, five minutes walking distance from the apartment, and it runs every hour from 7AM to 4PM. Golf cart rentals are available directly with the property managers or the club house. Main road and bus stop are 15 minutes walking from the apartment or just a couple of minutes after taking the trolley service. So close to the pool its great to keep an eye on the kids. Akumal public beach only 5min drive and very clean. Pool cleaned every day, very clean. Property manager very attentive, helps with everything, the go-to guy for everywhere to go and everything to do in the area. Cons Check-in a bit complicated but understandable because of the security in the area The carbon monoxide alarm was going off when we arrived but property manager and a neighbor helped us turn it off (battery was low) but also good to know the fire alarm and CO2 alarms are functioning and people are safe. Condo needed a little cleaning touch up before we arrived but manager contacted a house cleaner quickly and she cleaned up nicely. ##### Tarek L. The 1st floor poolside location is superb and the pool was nice, large, uncrowded and clean. The home was clean and in good repair and had no issues with anything like A/C, hot water, appliances etc. At one point the stove lighter stopped working and I asked the host where we could get a new one and he called a neighbor who brought one right down. You’ll definitely want a rental car to get around but the neighborhood amidst the PGA links is double gated, safe, quiet and clean. 5 minute drive to Akumal, Grand Bahia, Kay beach (and several other non-private beaches), cenotes. 15 minutes to a large grocery store (Chedraui) in Playa Abemturad and to Xel Ha the other direction, and 30 minutes to Tulum or Playa del Carmen. They’ve turned the road into a freeway since the last time I visited the area which made getting here from the airport and to other spots up and down the Mayan Riviera easy and fast. ##### Benjamin ### 6/10 Okay #### Charles S. The address that the host gave me didn't work in the GPS. I had to contact the property manager so he shared the location with me. 2\. Be aware that you don't have access to the most beautiful pools that you see in the description, these pools belong to a hotel. 3\. There was a dead cockroach under one of the sofas. 4\. Next day we found a cockroach walking on the counter in the kitchen. 5\. The fan in the main bedroom doesn't work. 6\. The light above the stove doesn't work either, we cooked every day, so it was very annoying. 7\. The host said that we could get discount in passes to the hotel next to the complex but it wasn't true, I contacted the hotel and they said we wouldn't get any discount. 8\. The host also said that we could get discounts at Key Beach but it wasn't true, at the beach club they said the discounts were just for owners. 9\. The laundry closet was extremely dusty. I contacted the host about some of the issues, he didn't even replied to my last message. After the trip I contacted Expedia to file a complain, they contacted me with VRBO, I explained the situation and they said they couldn't help me because I didn't have any evidence, despite that I sent them the email from the hotel saying that we didn't have any discount. I do not recommend this place.at all. When I arrived at the condo it had not been cleaned. I did send photos to the owner who had cleaners come the next day. I had to sleep on the couch the first night because the sheets were so dirty. I did send pictures to the owner. In addition there was no hot water for 3 days and there was a terrible egg smell that I could not get rid of. The shower head was leaking and the sink in the bathroom could not be unplugged. In addition there was no washer or dryer in the unit. The location of the unit is lovely and the complex is amazing. I have sent all of my concerns to the owner requesting some form of compensation which he has agreed to refund me $380.00\. Which I appreciate. The location is very confortable, it is between Tulum and Playa del Carmen, everything you need it's quite close within 15 min drive. The condo itself is well equipped, everything you need it is there. It looks new, well cared for, beds are quite comfortable, it is very important after a long sunny day at the beach. Reviera Maya offers lots of activities, recreational parks, tours, etc, this condo is a good place to be when you are planning to do all that. I do recomend this place. ##### vadim s. The only real issue with the unit was the curtains. They did not fit any of the windows or doors correctly and therefore did not provide privacy. Otherwise location to the pool could not be better. Jun 27, 2018 #### Comfortable & Secluded Retreat My first time staying outside of a hotel/resort so take that into account. Initially getting checked in and just finding the condo was a bit frustrating, mainly because we arrived when it was dark and the streets are not well lit or marked real well, plus the overall complex is so large it can get you turned around pretty easily. The condo is well maintained and quite charming. That was especially nice since the tropical storm kept up inside the unit more often than we probably would have been. Overall, the unit is well stocked with everything you need except for one small item. My wife and I are juicers, so it would have been nice to have even a hand juicer in the unit but it didn't keep us from enjoying some fresh squeezed juices while we were there. We actually tried to find one in the store in Tulum to no avail, otherwise we would have bought it and just left it for you to enjoy in the future. The only real issue we had was the power going off the night before we had to leave and when we were trying to pack and clean up. We had real issues given it was so late at night trying to use just lights on our cell phone to see. Having to get up real early 3:00 am to catch our Cancun flights without any lighting was getting rather stressful until finally one of the security guards remembered there are breakers for the unit outside the condo and quickly solved our issue. Once flipped back on we were able to finish up packing and charge up our phones to make our flights. I would definitely have available a secondary light source for the unit for those just in case situations. All and all, very pleased with the condo, its furnishings, the management staff over seeing it and the resort it sits within.
