"Very modern with a tranquil atmosphere. Calming surroundings with a welcoming host. Spotlessly clean and gardens are magnificent. I would recommend this small hotel to all."

"Les propriétaires du gite sont au petits soins même quand on arrive vers 22h.
Tout est impeccable avec de bonnes choses à manger et beaucoup de petits plus.
Je vais revenir dans ce gîte dès que j aurais à travailler près de Cherbourg. Je recommande vivement."

"L’accueil
Personnalisé et chaleureux de Florent ! Le petit déjeuner délicieux et varié dans une belle salle à manger ! La chambre… impeccable !!!
Un gros coup de cœur !"
"Everything was great very nice. Only issue was that we had no hot water to shower the morning we left, which ironically enough is exactly why we booked them because of a hot water issue at another facility. As we left they told us it was fixed and we could use it but we were already packed up and had plans/timetables for the day. Otherwise it was a great place to stay."
"Everything, the motel, it was clean, accommodating, the staff was so kind and helpful, we loved the small town atmosphere, the location our points of interest. We hope to again someday."
"The house itself looks great from the outsite and is located as described further away from other houses. Hence the surrounding is very quiet what we expected and liked a lot. The garden is lovely and well kept. The inside of the house was not as clean as we expected and others have described. There was a lot of dust for example in the corners and unter the beds. One of the biggest issues were the very many woodlice in the house, especially on the first floor in the bedrooms. With a house old as this you can expect a few insects here and there of course, but there were simply too many for comfort, especially on the first floor. "
"Set beside the Merderet River in Normandy, La Fière Guesthouse offers travelers more than just a place to stay—it offers a direct link to one of D-Day’s fiercest battles. Here, in June 1944, the 82nd Airborne Division fought to secure the vital bridge at La Fière, a struggle so intense it became one of the bloodiest engagements in the division’s history. Control of this crossing was essential to halt German counterattacks and open the path inland from Utah Beach.
Today, the fields are peaceful, but the echoes of history remain. The guesthouse, curated by Helen Patton, granddaughter of General George S. Patton, serves as a living museum. Its remarkable library and tributes honor both her grandfather’s legacy and the countless veterans of World War II. Guests lucky enough to meet Helen will find her knowledge and passion for history both captivating and deeply personal.
Hospitality here is warm and genuine, thanks to Neal and Denise, who ensure each guest feels at home. Rooms are spotless and comfortable, while breakfast, served in a private dining area overlooking the French countryside, is a quiet reminder of the land’s transformation from battlefield to sanctuary.
For those seeking comfort, authenticity, and an unforgettable connection to history, La Fière Guesthouse stands as a hidden gem in the heart of Normandy."
Charming little house in the center of town, 3-star furnished tourist accommodation classification
8/10 Good
"Very Nice house, great location, walking distance to many restaurants shops and museums.Disappointed that the day before our arrival we were asked if "Oh by the way do you want to clean the apartment before you leave or pay 70 cleaning fee"? At that point we didn't really have a choice in the matter and paid what seemed to be a rather higher than normal cleaning fee compared to other rentals."
