"This is a good, clean place to stay at a reasonable price. Small room but clean and quiet. We would stay again. If you want the shuttle service, set up in advance. It is expensive but efficient and safe. "

"The Bannister Hotel is very conveniently situated for access to Witwatersrand University, where I was doing some research in archives. On arrival, my first impression was discouraging because of people hanging around outside, but the room was good and comfortable and I settled in well. Overall I enjoyed my stay. "Not so good as they didn't even accommodate us. They indicated that they don't use Hotels for bookings. I stated arguing even after showing them proof of payment they just refused to accommodate us. I will appreciate to be refunded as I experienced such experience for the first time in my life. "

"I arrived after midnight and found staff in pajamas sleeping. They had no clue about my reservation even though it was booked 2 weeks ahead of time. I had to find my booking confirmation and show credit card statement of payment. Then i was walked through a dark alley to what could be otherwise considered the "boys quaters". "The BnB was convenient for our needs, comfortable and host Sonny was fantastic, if we ever have a need to go back that side of Johannesburg we will stay there again. just a heads up driveway is a bit steep for very low vehicles but with some practice can be negotiated okay."

"This place is nothing as advertised and just a disappointment all around. If you are simply looking for a bed to sleep in and nothing more then it is fine. But the rooms are old and look as though they are hardly taken care of. It felt as though I was at a distant family member's house who wasn't prepared for me to stay the night."

"So this is an apartment complex not a hotel. I did turn up very early and after enjoying breakfast in the insight restaurant was accommodated 4 hrs before the check-in time. Reception staff are professional and friendly. The apartment is really nice and overall i was very happy with my stay, there was a couple of minor maintenance issues i found with the room but nothing i need to bring to the attention of the staff. "Cozy and comfortable place. Easily accessible. Three issues to improve on: 1. Despite the fact that I had booked 3 weeks earlier, the housekeeper did not have my confirmation. Although it was eventually sorted, it leaves one to wonder. 2. Wi-Fi was only accessible in the main house and not in the rooms 3. Dstv was not accessible.
