![I chose this image to frame Appalachia because within it I see the stereotypical small community that appears to be run down and poor. This is the local barbershop, which is still operating by the way. I was shooting the picture to capture the beauty of the rainbow; however, what really caught my attention was the contrast within the image. « My son and I (and two dogs) stayed here for one night during a road trip for hiking. From reading the old reviews it seems like the new owners have really been putting in hard work to bring this place back to life; they are still working on it but everything was clean and amenities have been upgraded from previous photos such as flat screen tv with plenty of satellite channels and a ceiling fan with a remote (which I had to take a picture of because I loved it and want to find one for myself)....

« Great property! Has a rustic feel with modern updates. Property has neighbors but they are not close and you feel you are in a secluded area. Hot tube was a perfect addition. Great location for outdoor adventures! Only little issue we had was a little mouse was in the downstairs. Not a big deal as you are in the woods and that can happen. Host responded very well and was accommodating after they were made aware. Host provided quick responses and was very pleasant to work with. Family is already...

« We were very comfortable in this cabin. Kitchen was well stocked Jacuzzi was perfect after a day of hiking. We loved that you could get a 2-4mile hike right out of the cabin on the mountain. Everyone in this community were so friendly. Overall good vibe »

We loved this place and it is very clean and has everything you need. The owner is very thoughtful to have everything ready for my family to use. Thanks for making it cozy and just like home.
