"The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return."

"The property is lovely but as you would expect with a historic home it was missing some modern conveniences. There weren’t enough plug ins for all your electronic devices to charge by the bed. There is some signs of foundation issues and the room we stayed in was pretty small with the bathroom being a bit bigger than two phone booths. Overall it was charming but I was glad we only were staying one night."

"For my 1st Bed n Breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised. What a gorgeous, cozy establishment. My bedroom view was SPECTACULAR. I saw flying fish, boats, the lights shining on the water. All from my bed. Even from the bathroom, you can see the water. I loved the community aspect of the Regatta. Seeing all those friendly faces as a solo traveler was special and made me feel included.
