"Great Hotel for the Historic Experience"
I wanted to experience an old fashioned, historic hotel, something that I cannot get here in Vegas so I figured when in Rome (Savannah in this case). I purposely reserved Anna's room, 204, unbeknownst to my wife (best to ask for forgiveness than permission I always say) as I am always up for a good ghost hunt. Once my wife got over the fact it would be a 3some in room 204, we found the hotel staff to be OUTSTANDING and beyond hospitable. We ate at the restaurant which was reported to be one of the best in the city and we believe it to be! We were there for a week and ate at many different spots, this was definitely tops. The restaurant being in the structure from the late 1700's put a perfect touch on the ambiance. And NO, nothing really extraordinary to report about sharing a room w/ Anna. I did however awake to feel as if someone was gently touching my forehead and hair as in rubbing it in affection...but it may have been an itch, can't say for certain. The diaries next to the bed detailing guests experiences are a great read though...somewhat unnerving for those who are faint of heart though (don't let the kids read).

"I loved the location! "
The location of this B&B was perfect for me. I didn't want to be in the center of the district because of the noise and crowds. It was on a beautiful, quiet street not too far from all the shops and River Street if you are able to do some walking. If you're not, there is a free bus that goes around the district. I didn't use it though. The breakfast made by Miss Virginia was the best I have ever had in all my travels! I couldn't eat lunch because of the delicious food she cooked every morning. I would definitely choose the Eliza Thompson House again.

"A Very Pleasant Alarm Clock On the River!"
The River Street Inn was a most pleasant introduction to the wonderfully nice people of Savanna! The rooms are well appointed, the staff was attentive and extremely efficient and helpful at every turn, and the view of river and its traffic was truly and unpaid-for bonus! The announcement of the early morning entry and exit of the illuminated freighters is a sight to be remembered, and served us quite well as a pleasant signal of the commencement of another enjoyable day. There can't be a better location!

"Terrific Staff, Great Location"
I spent a week at East Bay Inn and it was far enough down River Street that there wasn't a ton of foot traffic, but it was completely accessible to the city. I walked everywhere except Tybee Island! The staff were wonderful and it was the little things that counted most. Historic hotels don't always have the greatest sound proofing so there were a few times when I heard pets and kids, but other than that, it was super relaxing.
