It was really nice to have a BBQ to make our own meals, and the Microwave/Oven combination was a bonus. Complimentary bikes made our trip even better.

"Beautiful old hotel not cheap but worth it."
On arrival we upgraded to an ocean view room in the original building. Well worth the extra $'s. No balcony but that was not a priority. Food was great though a little on the high side. Great bar facility. Old world charm. If you want peace and quiet and not party central this is the place to be. If you wanted cheap good food take a walk down the beach to the Hawaii beach boys burger bar.

"Very nice hotel and close to the beach"
Its our first time in Hawaii, its my present to my husband for his 50th birthday. I booked this trip with ocean view room in December 2013 and his birthday is on February. I was surprised to get a room that I didn't ask or pay for it, needless to say that a room with ocean view cost more. instead I got a room with partial ocean view with other hotels and city view. I called the front desk and they insured me that indeed this room is an ocean view room. I WASN'T HAPPY AT ALL. The next day I let them know that I am not happy with my room and to my astonished they switch my room to a beautiful ocean view. we had a great time looking at the marina and the sunset from our room, so therefore our next stay will be definitely with ILIKAI hotel. And I hope with the same room. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

"This was our second stay"
We have just spent 14 days at the Trump - this is our second time to stay with them in Waikiki and have nothing but good things to say about the hotel and their staff - our first stay was for 10 days two years ago - our second stay was even better than our first. We stayed in the same type of suite both times - deluxe ocean view and it was fabulous. All the little things add up to a great stay - the beach bags, the sun screen, the water, the fitness wear, etc - they do make a difference.

"Great location and very accommodating staff."
We have stayed here before and hope to in the future as well. We find the staff very helpful and when we asked to move rooms due to very strong winds affecting our ability to sleep in a high corner unit they were happy to help. We love the location and choose to upgrade to the higher ocean view rooms which makes our stay feel more special. Yes the rooms are getting a little tired but how much time do you spend there anyway and with renovations slated to rotate through the hotel this should be rectified with time. The resort fee, though a little steep, offers some great benefits, especially if you are renting a car and need to park it. The towel/chair/water beach service is really nice and convenient. Our kids enjoyed a couple of sessions with Uncle Nate in the lobby and loved the opportunity to feed the fish with another pleasant employee.

"Nice hotel comfortable"
I'm very pleased with this hotel. Very close to Ala Moana shopping center and beach park and all the beaches near Waikiki. Good central point for buses and shopping. Beautiful, laid back area compared to the Waikiki beach area yet close enough to enjoy everything. The boat pier is nice, we had a partial view of ocean between the buildings. This area is safe and clean, good for families or older folks. Our room was on the top floor, was very clean & had king size bed. The rooms are modern & renovated. They have a small fridge and a coffee maker but no microwave. I would suggest the hotel add microwaves. There's a safe to keep your valuables but you have to ask for the key. There's complimentary Mai Tai drinks on Thur & Fri. Free ice cold water in the lobby, but no breakfast or restaurants in the hotel bldg itself. That's no problem as there are plenty of eateries within one block. There's an Outback restaurant and Red Lobster & MacDonalds across the street . My favorite place to get food is the ABC store in the same block. You can get anything here including alcohol & souvenirs. The Hotel staff are very nice & friendly and accommodating to your requests. You should consider this hotel if you are budget conscious. I'd recommend this to a friend.
