“Amazing hotel!”

We loved our stay at this hotel. The room was so nice- all upgraded, so much fancier than we expected. We had a great time there.

“Hard to find, but once you do....!”

A bit challenging to find in the maze of highways in the area and road signs are ONLY in French. Super modern and clean with a terrific staff that is extremely helpful. Not much in the way of restaurants in walking distance. Sensational Italian restaurant behind the nearby Best Western. Easy, straight, 15-minute shot to the airport. I highly recommend!

Area recommendations

Not much around it and the "sightseeing" area of Quebec is about half an hour east.

Getting there

Get a good map and brush-up on your high school French. Most merchants in Quebec only accept Canadian currency.

“Great Trip”

We were in Quebec City for 5 days to cheer on our daughter playing in the CIS women's national volleyball championship at Laval University. The hotel was close to Laval and was very nice, nice lobby with comfortable chairs by a fireplace. The complimentary breakfest was awsome. eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, cinammon buns etc! A great way to start the day. The front desk staff was very polite and helpfull. spoke English as soon as I said "bon jour" when we arrived at 7PM. What tipped them off? The rooms were very nice, beds super comfortable. Lots of places to eat with in 4 - 5KM

The old city is beautiful, we also found that McGuire street in Sillary is a great place to eat.

“good place”

Other than the room not being made up until late in the afternoon it was an enjoyable experience. However I thought that the review said that they had a fitness center. none to be found

The old city of quebec is about 6 miles from the hotel Fasinating history also be sure to visit the plains of abraham and view the St Lawrence river from in front of the Chateau Frontinac. The aquarium is not to far from the hotel

“Nice hotel for the price.”

The hotel is conveniently located. The room was clean, everything was ok except that my wife would prefer to have non disposable dishes and utensils for the buffet breakfast.

“Great introduction to French Canada.”

This Holiday Inn wasn't too impressive on the outside but the interior was wonderful. Our guest room had hardwood floors, comfortable chairs and a really modern looking, high end fixtures bathroom. The exercise room was clean and it had free weights, mats, and treadmills. The complimentary breakfast was varied and plentiful and stayed open later on Saturday morning. Checkin included a coupon for a $20 dinner at a nearby restaurant. The ambience was wonderful and the food was delicious. HOWEVER, adding one glass of wine, one coffee and two desserts kicked the price up from $40 to over $80. The service, quality of food and decor was worth it, but it was a bit of a shock.

Area recommendations

We spent the day in Old Quebec. If you have a car, wear your walking shoes and park in one of the many 24 hour lots. You use a credit or debit card to enter and the same card to exit. We stayed over 8 hours and the total charge was $13.34, which is about 2 hours worth in San Francisco. Old Quebec is a beautiful place, loaded with old world charm and architecture. Start with the tourist information center, where they will give you a map and advice on what to see. Begin walking and observing. Visit as many small shops as possible. All of the clerks speak at least some English and their "merci" and "bon jour" is like music to the ear. If you intend to be out after dark, be sure you have a flashlight to help you read street signs and maps. This is really an inexpensive (relatively) way to sample Europe. I absolutely want to return to this city.

“Great place to sleep!”

People on the front desk very very helpful all the time, they even have a map with all possible tourist attractions on it - they will give it to you, just ask. My room was great, looked like a large 1 bedroom apartment! Very clean, had 2 tvs in there and 2 ACs. Highly recommended place! Very convenient location to highways!
