"This is an older building with lots of character. The bedroom was huge with lots of space and a view over the garden. The bed was comfy, although the mattress did seem to sag in the middle a little. The bathroom was nicely decorated, but I was a little surprised their wasn't any shampoo/conditioner in addition to the shower gel. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. We did have a drink from the bar after hours, which was allowed but the chap serving us didn't really have a clue so...

If staying at this property, perhaps recommend staying on 1st floor as our room was ground floor and the noise from upstairs guests was very loud - not much in terms of sound insulation. "Most of the staff were very obliging and courteous. The room felt small for a couple and the bathroom had to be entered sideways to get to the toilet. The bath was cleanish, but a deep clean of the room would not have gone amiss. Limited power outlets for hairdryer, not a lady functional room. There was no mattress cover on the mattress, even if they appeared new. The pillows could do with being upgraded. There was one day that we did not receive clean towels, may be because they...

"Characterful property in open countryside with good free parking. A car is needed for getting about as no immediate public transport (40 minute walk to nearest bus stop). Set in lovely grounds with seating outside for warmer days and plenty inside when it isn't so nice. Large room with bath and shower though minmal sockets and not near bed. Good for relaxing and not being distracted by phones. There was an event on the evening we stayed but music stopped by 11pm. Great for a relaxing break. "
